Ray has been my barber for three years. I see him for a cut almost every two weeks and it always looks good! He’s one of those barbers that cares about people and loves to talk sports! Especially golf. Love being greeted by Kristen as well when walking in! Nonexistent customer service. Booked 15min beard trim for my son. Son was turned away for being 5 min late TO A BEARD TRIM, PEOPLE. How long does that take? I get that my boy was late, and a beard trim is like 5 min and could have been easily accommodated. On the day of his senior pictures, no less– you think the owner of this place could have a little flexibiity at all– even within the timeslot we were paying for? Not this guy.

Ray was amazing! This was our first haircut for my son with special needs in years. Ray took the extra time that was needed to get to know my son and to help him feel comfortable. So happy to have met Ray and look for many haircuts in the future.

Positive: ProfessionalismFinally I’ve found a real Barber .Ray and his fellow Barbers are awesome .I got more compliments on my haircut here than anywhere else .The atmosphere is light, chatty ,and Fun ! Critical: ProfessionalismThe owner of the shop accosted me over the phone earlier this week for not making it on-time to an earlier appt I had scheduled – where I was seven minutes late. He told me I owed him for both the time slot that I missed and for the haircut I was about to receive. I had been going to this establishment for over two years and was intending on making amends, but I did not appreciate the very rude, unprofessional phone call that assumed I wouldn’t be apologetic. The owner of the shop accosted me over the phone earlier this week for not making it on-time to an earlier appt I had scheduled – where I was seven minutes late. He told me I owed him for both the time slot that I missed and for the haircut I was about to receive. Critical: ProfessionalismI went in for my haircut today and was accosted by Ray for failing to call him personally prior to canceling my son’s appointment which I booked online at the same time. I apologized to him numerous times stating I tried to cancel online and via the confirmation email that comes direct from the shop. He immediately told me to “get out,” that I ,”cost him $25″ and “have fun at Sportclips” after I repeatedly told him I was sorry, but his website is antiquated and difficult to cancel appointments through. After some back and forth he finally said “okay sit down.” I told him that there was no way I was going to let him cut my hair after the way he acted. I can handle being yelled at by an immature, obnoxious, store owner (he claimed to own it but the name and website still say Joel’s) but he did it in front of my four-year old daughter, which just showed an extreme lack of self control. I feel badly for the woman who appeared to be working there at the time as she was both very nice to my little girl and tried to calm down an enraged barber. I’ve been going to Joel’s since Joel owned it. I’ve seen both Flint, and now Ray, but unless he apologizes, I’m going elsewhere.
