I have been here 3 times and the first 2 times were wonderful! I was very excited to have found a new favorite place, but the 3rd time I went in for a fill and a new lady did my nails. She was slightly aggressive, but not concerning at the time. However, a few days later 2 of my fingers swelled up at the cuticle and under my nails an infection spread. I just left the ER and had to get my fingers drained. This could happen to anyone, but I hope the women at JN nails are this and take better precaution with cleaning! I don’t want to give 1 star because they’ve done great work before- just be careful with cleaning products at every nail salon.

They advertise that walk-ins are welcomed on their business card. However, I arrived at 10:15 with my elderly African American mom who needed a pedicure. and was turned away stating we needed an appointment. The place was completely empty of customers except for 1 lady. The service person was abrupt and unkind. Both the customer and the service lady looked at us as if we were subhuman. I will never go there again as it was so obvious they didn’t want to provide service to us. Unacceptable and sad in 2022. We ultimately ended up at Lovely Nails in Rock Island where they treated my mom with the respect and courtesy she deserved.

Super happy with the place at first but then they started rushing through my nails to squeeze in more appointments. Hence the last two times I went the polish started peeling off the next day because she wouldn’t wait the full time for the gel to cure. I spend alot of money there, tip pretty good and would expect my steady business to be appreciated more than cutting corners on my nails.

The Work is always great, but I’ve never once had an on time appointment. I usually get in 15-20 minutes after my appointment time, since they don’t seem to turn other people away immediately prior to appointments. This just gets a little frustrating when I’ve only got so much time to burn!
