Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI have been away from home for over 2 months and half due to my job. I googled many salons that cater to natural 4c hair types, I couldn’t find any, or the ones that I found tell me to leave them a message and I should expect a call back in 30 days . If I start about all the sh***t these so called natural hair salons put me through just to get my hair done, I will never write this review so….JJ salon was easy to find, and there were more positive reviews than negative, I drove the 30 minutes from my hotel to there. I was nervous, I have been natural for more than a decade now, I don’t want people to fry my hair . It took 20 minutes for me to realize that I didn’t have to be nervous. They were nice, professional, and knew exactly what to do with my hair! I left happy, a head full of healthy trimmed hair, and I paid only $35!! This was 2 weeks ago, today I am going back to get my hair done before I head home! I have been away from home for over 2 months and half due to my job. I googled many salons that cater to natural 4c hair types, I couldn’t find any, or the ones that I found tell me to leave them a message and I should expect a call back in 30 days . Positive: PunctualityI visits JJ Dominican at least every 3 months. Around the summer of 2020 I noticed they got new hair stylist in & the shampoo station wasn’t the same. The shampoo & conditioner they have started to use is absolutely horrible. They use to use a better quality shampoo & conditioner, that would moisturize your hair & scalp giving you a tingly feeling. NOPE ! Don’t get that anymore. The new shampoo people are ROUGH like ROUGH & horrible ! They don’t detangle your hair from the ends to root but from root to ends. I can hear her ripping my hair out . I told her it hurt & she replied “ your hair is tangled “ Then when it came time to role my hair she got A EVEN SMALLER COMB !. Other than that the lady’s who actually do the blow outs are amazing & its $35 well spent ! They will have your hair silky and straight. But you will definitely leave with a headache from the detangling. They just need to train the shampoo lady’s & get better shampoo & conditioning products. I visits JJ Dominican at least every 3 months. Around the summer of 2020 I noticed they got new hair stylist in & the shampoo station wasn’t the same. The shampoo & conditioner they have started to use is absolutely horrible. They use to use a better quality shampoo & conditioner, that would moisturize your hair & scalp giving you a tingly feeling.
