I’m almost bald so I always wear a cap unless I shave it totally. Well I had let it go to the point where there was enough to walk into a barber shop after 15 years. I had a messy goatee also . I normally would not worry about because, you see, I’m balding and I’m Fat! So I’ve givin up on the ladies. So I dont care. But it’s my 50th tommorow, dec 6 , and a freind asked if I would like to have dinner with him and his wife Lori. They a great people WHOA I’m getting way off course.

Critical: Professionalism, QualityI’ll try to stick purely to the facts, as the woman seemed kind enough. I am a male who has hair about 4″ and asked her to cut according to a few sample pictures. Below is my story.I came in and showed her three pictures of men’s hairstyles of varying length. In the end, my hair has been cut significantly shorter than even the shortest of the three photos I showed her. After she applied gel and styled my hair, it looked more like an Elvis-style up-do than the photos I had brought in, which were all a sweeping, comb-over style. To more fine details. She did the entire head with scissors, which I was initially happy about. After I got home, I noticed that this had actually resulted in a wildly uneven cut, with some clearly visible dips in my hair, as well as the back half of my crown appearing as a large, untrimmed bump. When the time came for the line up, I realized it was too late to save the haircut. She began with a regular electric hand razor and moved all the way around my head. At this point, I thought it was normal. She then pulled out an electric razor that must have been from the 70’s, and did another pass around my head. This pass was much more rough and erratic. When the razor was used on my sideburns, the sound of the motor in my ear was nearly deafening. I did my best not to flinch away. She then applied some shave cream and took a straight razor…around my entire head. That makes a third pass over the line up. She then pulls out the same electric hand razor from the beginning and does A FOURTH PASS AROUND MY ENTIRE HEAD. I shook it off as me being silly at first, until I got home and took a close look. Here, I want to make a point that I shaved my face two hours before my appt. I clearly lined up my sideburns, and I was under the impression that she would follow this alignment. When I got home and inspected the lineup, I was sorely disappointed. For the sideburns, she had chosen to raise my line from mid-ear to all the way to the top of the ear. On top of this, there was hair in between my previous line and the one she cut, so I had to go back over it with a razor and clean it up myself. For the line around the ears, she chose to shave it up about 1/4″ above my natural hairline, for no apparent reason. She also did a very poor job and left tons of little hairs sticking out over the hairline. It is not clean at all. Now for the hairline at the back of my head. She chose to raise this hairline about one full inch above my natural hairline. This has left me with a strange bald stripe that will soon grow in at a very uneven rate. Below this bald stripe are tons of patches of short hairs that she missed during her FOUR PASS LINEUP PROCEDURE. The only part of my hairline which has not been ruined is the temple section, which she thankfully ignored. For a quick summary: The scissor trim left my hair uneven with visible “divots.” She did four different passes over my hairline, and in the end ruined my sideburns, neckline, and above my ears. I will surely need to go back to a new barber inside of a month to have her hack job cleaned up. I’m honestly embarrassed that I have to go to work like this. Do not trust her to cut your hair unless she knows you and knows exactly what you want. She may do better with women, but she will ruin any man’s hair without the clearest of instructions or simplest of cuts. Save your money.P.S. To add to the aforementioned issues, she received two calls during my haircut. The first was on the business phone, which I of course expected her to accept. The second was on her personal phone. She should not have answered, but she did anyways. This was when my haircut was nearly finished, mid FOUR PASS lineup. She proceeded to talk for over two minutes with someone I assume was a family member, talking about giving them a free haircut, doing laundry for each other, and a number of other things. I felt very disrespected, and got the impression that she undervalues the business of people who are not regular customers.I’ll try to stick purely to the facts, as the woman seemed kind enough. Unfortunately Yvette is often late for a scheduled appointment. Frustrating when you are trying to manage your time.

Critical: QualityMen—stay away if you are looking for a fade or a beard lineup. Ruined my beard. Took the line all the way down when I specifically showed her where I wanted it. Fade is uneven. Worst haircut ever. I’d rather have unkept hair the entire pandemic then go to this place again.

Great place for a shave or cut, you can’t get any nicer than her. Went for a beard trim before a night out in SF and she took me right asap even before some guy that was waiting for a cut. Props for that and understanding

I have been here a few times, but choose to go elsewhere now. I’ll just say I didn’t like the way she cuts hair and it was crooked in the back once.
