Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI went to this shop to have my hair braided. I thought long and hard about whether or not I wanted to write a review that could be damaging to this business but I also felt a duty to warn potential customers as I am an avid reader of reviews before I go to establishments. I specifically told the first young woman not to braid tight around my edges and when the second lady ( the owner) arrived 3 1/2 hrs late she took over, (I might add, it took this woman 2 hrs to do 10 braids), and I expressed the same sentiment to her about my edges. My hair is natural, apart from that I don’t know of ANY salons that put RUBBER BANDS in their customers hair as a way of separating it and then when it came time to take the bands out, they were so entangled that I had to take them out for fear that she would pull my hair out as she did with the first band she removed. The lady and I got into a disagreement because of how rough she was handling my hair and the amount of breaking I heard and felt as she SNATCHED my hair. So here we are 3 weeks later and I have multiple braid loss, and patches of sores in my scalp and around my edges from the braids being TOO tight. I paid this women $220 and it was a TOTALLY not worth it. There is no way to leave pics below, but oh how I wish I could. Furthermore, braid styles are supposed to protective, but when you have a person with this kind of disconnect from the customer and their needs, wants and well being, you should probably close down.
