Moved here from California two years ago and I’ve been looking for someone to do my hair. While in the process of looking for someone who was awesome i damages my hair. Finally it dawned on me to try jcpenney salon. Best decision I’ve made. The salon is very convenient for me and everyone there is very welcoming and friendly. My hairstylist Shawnta’ is awesome. All women especially those who are natural or transitioning please take my word and visit the salon and go to her. You won’t be sorry. I promise!!!!!!!

The place is hidden inside Jcp. It’s a really big salon. The staff seems nice and they do a decent job. My wife got her hair cut there it looked clean not a lot of stray hairs. The price was good also $55 with tip.

My experience was very disappointing. I went in for Mothers Day to treat myself and really felt embarrassed with the result I walked away with not once but twice. I went back the next day to have it fixed and now my hair is Red not at all the experience I was looking for nor the result of my hair color. My experience was with just one of the stylist so I can’t speak on all but most definitely did not have a good experience with the lady that did my color. I now will have to pay once again to have color done as I will not return for a third time.

Critical: PunctualityI made an appointment online, this is the first chance I’ve had in YEARS to go out and get my hair done because I have small kids and it’s hard to get away. I can’t even express how excited I was to do this. came in a few minutes early because I respect people’s time and was told my stylist would be in shortly. I don’t mind waiting so I sit down, while I’m waiting at least 3 stylists were standing at the front desk chatting for the majority of the time. After sitting there for over half an hour one of them comes over and says that my stylist had called in and she hadn’t realized that and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I asked if there was someone else that could do it since they all seemed to be free and she said no. Shawnta is the hairstylist that everyone needs! She’s warm, welcoming and very personable. She kept a great conversation going with the room all while giving me the perfect cut! My type 4 natural hair is only kind to the people and products that are kind to it. She tamed my mane which pleased me greatly!!! Next time my daughter will be in her chair. Thank you Shawnta 🙂

I’ve been coming to see Shawnta for a few years now and she is AMAZING! I have natural black hair and she is aware of all the “do’s & dont’s” to keep it growing and healthy. Occasionally I have it flat ironed to access my growth and she never disappoints. I’m always STUNNED by the transformation! She does a beautiful job and I highly recommend her.
