I went to JCP salon to have my hair highlighted and cut. I am 42 and have had my hair colored highlighted a multitude of times. For reference last year my hair was 18 inches longer and the foil process took 1 hour 15 minutes. My hair is at my shoulders now and the foils took 3.5 hours! I asked multiple times if the bleach should be on my hair this long and that I was concerned it was over processing. She told me it’s fine. My hair is literally falling out now! I had to condition/wash my hair when I got home because the bleach was still in my hair underneath. Then she proceeded to cut my hair. I don’t know where the heck she got her cosmetology license, but this is the most ludicrous hair cut I’ve received. I asked for a blunt bob and some curtain bangs. I have two levels across my hair as my bob and she literally picked up pieces of my hair in the front and just cut them to make bangs. The photos say it all! I was so upset I just paid and left. I have called twice and have not received a call back.

I went in for a simple haircut. It was obvious that my stylist was new, did not talk much, which is fine, washed my hair, but not the underside thoroughly. She asked what I wanted and I explained just a trim. I currently have layers I’m trying to grow out and didn’t want any additional layers. She sat me in the chair and simply cut the length I wanted off. She didn’t touch the layers which I guess is what I should expect by saying I was growing them out. She then spent 15 minutes blow drying my hair. She then showed me the back of my new haircut and told me my layers were really full of split ends and I should have them trimmed in 6 weeks. I was so over the experience, I threw my hair in a ponytail, paid and left. I styled my hair this morning and to my surprise it’s really uneven. I called to see if I could make the hour drive and come back in to have it fixed. I was told the same stylist would have to cut it. I really don’t want her to touch my hair again. I was told a manager would call me back to discuss it and still am waiting for the call. Super disappointed because I’ve been a customer for years

I went in for a highlight, and I must say, Jillian beautifully slayed my hair!! She blended the new and old highlights, got the color exactly right. I guess you can get away with dead ends with curly hair, but the hair stylists i have always went to would cut too short or layer the heck out of it and cause a puff….I went in telling the stylist Jillian I didn’t know what I wanted bc I have rarely been happy with a haircut but told her what I didn’t want.She did great. Do not get your hair done here! The stylist, Dakota, was very unprofessional and messed up my haircut. I called a week later to have it redone, and when I came in for my redo appointment they informed me that the same stylist would have to cut my hair again. I tried to ask for someone else but the receptionist was rude and unsympathetic. The stylist wasn’t even there yet and I waited 10 more minutes for her to even show up. When she didn’t, I walked out. RUDE employees. Plus her area was dirty with hair everywhere.

I got my hair done here 2 months ago, and you know what, I’m still mad. Kathy did my highlights, the whole time she kept reminding me how much it was going to cost. $120, by the way. She also mentioned that if they needed toned, it was going to cost extra, which doesn’t make sense to me because most people’s highlights need toned, so why isn’t it included?Long story short, I left JC Penney’s 3 hours later with the worst hair color service I’d ever received. I woke up the next day and my hair was so brassy! I called the salon and spoke with the manager. They fit me in that day to try to tone them down a little. It helped a little but not really. The manager was very polite and told me if I still wasn’t happy I could come back in and have Kathy (the original hairdresser) fix me up again. Um, no thanks… So, here I am two months later, still only able to part my hair certain ways to hide my highlights that look like they were done by a 12 year old did with a box kit. I am getting my hair died back all one color today, finally, and obviously not at JC Penney’s
