We walked into J Allen for the first time with out an appointment. It was no problem at all, they were quick to take my son. Jamie cut his hair. He took his time and did a great job. The vibe of the barber shop was awesome. Loved the music and the look.We will definitely be back! Haircut

Sunday morning cut before an interview on monday. Pretty sure i was Steven’s first cut of his life. Wanted a crew cut. 45 min cut with only using electric trimmer on my edges, everything else was sissors. It was a mess. Had to go to another barber to salvage. Sideburns were not touched, left tufts of hair on the sides sticking out. According to the second barber the top was chopped all up and needed serious blending. He didnt even hold the mirror remotly correct and i had to lean way over to see. Walked past i assume the owner on the way out and he didnt say a word. Charged 30 for the haircut no less.

I started using this barbershop when I moved to Albany in January 2015. Even though I no longer live in Albany, my 2 sons still come here (they still live in the area) and I come here when im in town visiting and need a cut. They have many master barbers here that can expertly cut any type of hair. My sons have a standing appointment every other Sunday, but even if you need a cut at short notice someone there will accommodate you. Im dropping my son off at college today and wanted him to get a fresh cut. Our normal barber wasnt available but the owner, Jay Allen, said he would hook my son up. Its that type of customer service that has kept me coming here for the past 6 years and will keep me coming here.
