I called for an acne skin laser treatment consultation. The appointment was 5 minutes, if that. I did it because I was told the consultation is free. I then received a bill in the mail for over $60. I was told consultations are free but since it was acne related it was billed that way and I had to pay. I am shocked of the response. If I had known this previously I would have felt prepared but why lie to patients and tell them services are not charged, when they clearly are? This is not good practice and I feel I am being treated unfairly.

As someone else on healthgrades noted, you may not be getting what you pay for. I spent 500$ for removal of a few mm scar- his procedure failed. So he offered to do it “deeper.” For another 500$, of course- with no promise that it would have guaranteed results. What a financial farce, and what lack of professionalism. Not to mention extending curtesy to a local fellow physician. Your (expensive) procedure failed completely, and instead of apologizing and offering prompt redress, you ask to charge again for the treatment I should have received in the first place! Outrageous. Now I have a more visible scar and am 500$ poorer.

Feb.2022 I was laughed at and told to get a psyciatrist. I had samples and notes for what I was going through. I was treated horrible, yet he made a joke of it all. NOW my new Dr has been running tests for everything an is getting to the bottom of it. I now am almost well. STAY FROM HERE.

Today was my first visit to Dr. Schumann and I’m extremely impressed! He has excellent credentials and he explained each procedure clearly. Dr. Schumann was generous with his time and the nurse who works with him was also very professional and kind. I recommend Dr. Schumann without any hesitation!

I have been going here for the past 9 or so years. Even when I stopped working in the area and moved further away I continued to come here. A great Dermatologist is hard to come by, so I don’t mind making the trip. Kind of want to keep this place to myself but I guess I can share lol.

Made an appointment for a serious skin related disease that had been gradually worsening over a one month period only to clear up before my appointment. I informed the nurse I had over 50 photos showing the issue. Nurse seemed to just go with routine and assured me the doctor would examine me fully and look at all photos. However, when I saw the doctor (Dr. Schumann) he only glanced at the area for a few moments and claimed I had an unrelated skin issue. I tried to show him the photos on my phone but he only looked at two before telling me the condition of my skin in my photo doesn’t match the issue he CONTINUED to tell me I had. Did not attempt to provide more information why I was experiencing the skin issue nor did he attempt to research it further. Honestly, would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have been coming here for years now. Dr Schumann and Dr Beasley are both fantastic medical providers. They take the time to thoroughly exam me from top to bottom and answer any questions I may have. Unlike other practices in the area I am never pushed off on a mid-level or low-level provider. No Nurse Practitioners, No Physicians Assists. I see an MD at each and every visit. The new office location is nice. No more stairs or elevator. The front office staff is wonderful. Nicole always greets me with a smile and is my go-to when I have any questions about billing. His nursing staff is superb. Both Rakel and Victoria have been with him for years now and are both very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Its great to see a familiar face. My last visit I met the newest addition to the Jamestown Dermatology Family, Chelsea, the new nurse from Mississippi. She was just a delight. I recommend Jamestown Dermatology to every one of my friends and family. If you become a patient you will not be disappointed in the outstanding medical care you will receive at each and every appointment.

Dr. Schuman and Linda have forever changed my life! I have always been a confident person, but the older I have gotten (currently 29), the more and more freckles and sun spots I have gotten. I was really irresponsible with my skin as a younger adult and wasn’t as diligent about sunscreen as I should have been. In my late twenties I have always regretted that. I am a surfer and beach lover. Countless hours in the water without reapplying sunscreen and lots of beach vacations can really come back to bite you when it comes to skin. My chest, face, shoulders, upper back and arms were pretty much covered and sprinkled with freckles throughout. It was nothing jarring or extreme, and you could hardly see them when I was wearing makeup. I don’t know why, I just really didn’t like them, and I was convinced I had compromised my skin for forever. Until I came to Jamestown Dermotology! I think I didn’t like the freckles because it always reminded me about how I could have done a better job with skincare in my teens and early 20s. This procedure has given me the chance to start over and I could not be more grateful for that. I have gone through two rounds of IPL with Dr. Schuman and Linda and seen incredible results. They are the absolute best – patient, knowledgable and understanding. My chest, as well as other areas, are completely spotless – like it looked when I was 14, and the procedure has given my skin a new radiance as well. I am SO incredibly pleased with the results I have gotten and this is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. If you are on the fence about doing IPL, don’t wait another minute and get going because this procedure does take time and patience! Thank you Dr. Schuman and Linda for your amazing work and dedication to this process for me!
