I was in Chelsea on a Monday, I wanted a haircut but forgot that most of the barbershops are closed. I noticed that Jack’s & Son was opened. I went in for the first time. However, I realized I forgot my wallet and money, Jim offered to cut it on a honor code. I told him I was growing my hair longer so just a light trim. I get nervous saying that to a new barber that I’m first time visiting. I usually walk out looking like a military bootcamp cadet. But Jim did just what I asked, he cut my hair great. He cut it in a low taper and blended the ends evenly. However, the conversation was leaning towards political, which makes me uncomfortable, I navigated it back to me, my work or my previous bad haircuts. Again, I got a Great haircut by Jim but avoid political conversations,unless that’s your thing, you are in the right place. Thanks, Jim for a great haircut.

The décor in this shop is pretty neat, quaint, and kitsch. The owner/barber, Jim was cordial and pretty funny with a sardonic sense of humor. Overall, I got a good vibe from the place.
