J&L was recommended to me via a coworker. The first 3 times I went were great experiences. They have a great selection of colors to choose from to the point where you start to become overwhelmed. So go in with an idea in mind. However, my last and only visit there was not okay. My nail tech made some racist remarks while telling a story. I told her that I don’t think that her remarks were appropriate, being that I am of the race she was describing. Then she continued to talk down about my race and my skin tone to the point where I wanted to get up and leave. I have never had an experience like this before at a nail salon. The whole reason for me getting my nails and other services done is a way for me to relax and pamper myself. I felt disrespected an unwanted. Especially when I made my discomfort known. Also, to add insult to injury, I hated the way my nails came out. Uneven, base too dark, (“bc my skin is dark, so I need this base, only looks good on black skin. Lighter colors are for white girls only” verbatim), paint on my hands, polish was thick, shaping was off. Very disheartening, being that my initial experiences were great.

I’ve had a couple good manicures here before but my last experience was not good. I never write bad reviews ever but I came as a walk in and they said they could take me for a pedicure and gel manicure. This picture is just a day after I got it done. While my pedicure was happening another tech was doing my manicure while I was in the massage chair which was not really a nice experience but also was so so rushed. The paint is already coming off and is really lumpy, cuticles are a mess.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but recently I have been super disappointed in J&L and their quality. Every time I get my refills, and even new sets, one or two of my nails have broken. I’ve loved it here and haven’t had an issue with this until recently. These past couple of months I’ve kept going, but it’s really frustrating having to go back to get my nails fixed. This past refill, my nail broke two days after getting them done. It’s also upsetting paying so much for a refill that doesn’t last more than a week. They also struggle to do pretty simple designs, which I can understand, but I ask them to just so just the color and take off the design and then end up leaving with nails I hate. They also are very aggressive and I leave with bleeding cuticles and possible infections. I definitely will not be returning and I personally don’t recommend J&L.

They’re manner were so rude . Rushing me and my cousin out the door. Made me pay before I even finished when she knew I had extra hand to handle that . Just sloppy fast and no cool. I would want my time and money back . But hey you get what you pay for Manicure

Love J&L. Tips are cash only so be sure to bring some $$$ to tip these fabulous nail technicians!! One free drink if you ask for it Always very clean, professional, and they can do just about any design, color, shape, etc (some may cost a bit extra). They have SNS, gel, regular paint, and can do manicures, pedicures (no SNS for these), and waxing. Great place to get your nails done!!

Called first thing in morning to get an appointment- was told not to bother just come in after 2pm. When we arrived before even signing in, the attendant was rude and acted inconvenienced as there were 4 people on line. When I mentioned we had called she got heated and said that if we didn’t want to wait take our business elsewhere— which we promptly did. Atmosphere at Floris nails in Exton is much better and cleaner. I’ll never go back here again.

I am a regular here and love the place. They are consistent, professional and clean. Over the years I ventured to other salons a couple of times, but the questionable hygiene brought me back here. I just do regular pedicures.

Extremely rude staff .The lady who did pedicure yelled at me because my nail polish wasn’t dry after sitting under the fan for 20 minutes. She went across the hall yelling in Asian language. They need to learn normal decency to respect all human beings irrespective of color of skin. I am an Indian and have brown skin. I am not sure they did this because of my skin color, but I did not see other women (white skin) being treated the way I was. Never felt this way in any salon ever. I had to use this salon because it was the only one open on Sunday. Never coming back

My nails turned out so good. It took maybe 45 minutes for a full gel set and it was only $50. Other places are a little more expensive but the prices here are really reasonable for the service they provide. They’re also so sweet there too. I called to make an appointment, he said just to come and walk in. I picked my color, was seated for no more than 10 minutes before they took me back to do my nails. If you pay with cash, you get a 6% discount. Super clean and nice looking place. I would definitely come here again!!
