I have never done a review in my life but i feel like i need to because this nail salon almost made me cry because of disappointment 🙁 we just moved here and i was looking for a long time salon and my experience here is not good. I gave it 2stars bec they are nice. The lady who did my pedicure barely cleaned my nails, did not remove my cuticle even though i told her to clean a little bit more. She massged my legs bec i fold up my leggings if not she wouldn’t even bother to ask. Then i was excited hoping the younger lady who did my mani is gonna be good but same thing:( very sad. Even after asking to clean a little bit more.. First photo u can clearly see the dry skin and cuticle are still there and because i felt it , i pulled it and thats what it looks like on the 2nd photo. I paid $70 and still gave them $10 tip because i know its not an easy job.

Came by for a gel pedicure. I was simply told “number 2” which I came to realize meant chair station number two, ok got you, took a seat. I selected my color and was offered the price menu on a laminated card while they filled my water basin. I selected the Deluxe Pedicure for $55 and we began. I turned on my massage chair & relaxed while the nail technician chatted in her language with her coworkers. Two young children were watching ninja turtles on prime on the TV closest to me. What I didn’t like was my entire Pedicure took about 25 minutes total and was charged $75, when the menu stated $55. I added no additional services, came with bare nails. My mom sat for a simple polish change manicure and the tech cut one of her lovely natural nails off without asking. Our total was $100 and in & out in 25 minutes and I was not impressed by the level of cleanliness.

Island Nails over all does an acceptable job, most of the time. They could do a bit more exfoliation ….there is not great attention to detail sometimes. But at least they usually do put toe separators (its these little details that matter to me…not putting the separators causes smudging…inevitably) and do a good job shaping my sometimes problematic nails. They are also usually good at taking walk ins, which cannot be said for many nail salons on island (especially south island). However, several times things have felt rushed when it comes time to dry (one of these details that make a difference!). One time, we were there close to closing (but not after closing), and we were literally shooed out of there without ANY drying time after paying for spendy pedicures. I thought this was VERY rude, as I did say I preferred not to leave quite without any drying time and I think if the lady was paying any attention at all it was obvious I was not happy about having the flip flops unceremoniously shoved onto to my feet and being basically herded out the door. Today was a similar situation…only this time I think she wanted me to move over to the chairs for the manicure, IMMEDIATELY after my pedicure, which I was not comfortable with because I am clumsy and always SMUDGE if I move right after. I am paying a lot of money for this, I tip well, I just want to be left to dry and not have smudged nails that I paid 80 bucks for. Its an older lady (did not get her name) that has done this both times! Please just let us dry!

Upon entering, we were asked to sit in seats which were occupied with nail salon supply. We waited while they cleared the clutter after a couple minutes. I stood hoping they would clean/sanitize our chairs because there was debris on both chairs and nail clippings. They took their time and we were left with dirty seats. My pedicure was decent provided by a young women and I opted for the signature pedi ($30) and she completed mine in 30 minutes with everything included as listed. My partner; however only received a 19 min pedi and she did not include all the services that were listed ( did not file nails nor ask if he wanted them filed, very briefly did the bottom of the foot with Pumic stone and she did not apply the finishing lotion). She got up after wiping his legs and walked to the back where I saw her eating. She never told him he was done or said thank you. Nothing. I confronted her and she insisted she did the lotion. We waited to pay she never apologized and we still got charged despite not having the full service. Also, they do not sanitize the foot graters.. after she briefly did his foot she ran it through the dirty tub water and back in the basket. We will not be returning

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueHappy Holidays. I absolutely love my Christmas nail set. Such an amazing job! Not to mention the staff are so nice and welcoming. My nails finally started outgrowing at 3 weeks. The guy who did my nails put a clear sealant on top, so the jewels didn’t come off.

Best place for acrylic or dip whatever fake nail you like. They last long and look pretty. All of the nail techs are experienced and use best practices. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Best nail shop in Oak Harbor no question about it.

another place that I would not even give one star to. this place is lying about new management. the guy below from happy nails works here! i went last month & got excellent service. the last time i was there the guy below called them & told them not to serve myself nor my friend because he had been giving me piss poor service! the ladies at the shop now lie about the new management, as a customer i felt very disrespected by the ladies, i even disgusted with them that i had had issues in the past, they still lied!

I gave 4 stars because I feel like I was overcharged for a simple overlay with a french tip on my natural nails. I didn’t get artificial tips or anything like that. First time I paid 60. For a fill I was charged 50. My nails were beautifully done, but I can’t keep spending money like this for a bit of self care. The price says 15 plus for a fill. I didn’t argue about the price because it’s their right to charge what they want, but I’m sorry to say that I am not going back. I hope my review doesn’t deter anyone from patronizing this establishment, if they can stand to pay about 70-80 bucks every 2 weeks. I’m looking to get what I specifically ask for. This place will give you what you want and them some to squeeze more money out of you apparently.
