Critical: QualityI am so disappointed in my experience at Island Day Spa. (Without warning) my pedicure ended up being $79 before tip ($90 total).. and it was truly the lowest quality pedicure I’ve ever received. The technician barely had any light to work with. There was random workout equipment in the middle of the spa (treadmill, weights and all. Just strange) I was bummed when I saw the end result of my pedicure but completely shocked when the woman at the front desk told me the total amount. Look at the photo.. do you think this is a $90 job? I am so disappointed in my experience at Island Day Spa. (Without warning) my pedicure ended up being $79 before tip ($90 total).. and it was truly the lowest quality pedicure I’ve ever received. The technician barely had any light to work with. There was random workout equipment in the middle of the spa (treadmill, weights and all. Critical: QualityHad a couples day scheduled here, everyone was nice and happy to serve wine; however, the actual treatments for both me and my spouse were very pour quality. It’s as if one of the young girls hadn’t been to school for any of the treatments she performed and wasn’t even licensed. Nor did she speak English so we couldn’t even communicate with her. Pedicures were the absolute hands down the worst we have ever received. It even looked like a 9 year old had done the nail polish. And the pedicure area was a cluster. Facials were a joke, she was more concerned that I had gel polish on my toe nails and spent 20 minutes trying to use Acetone to get it off instead of using a rotary file. This shortened my facial time. Facial areas were in these tent like set ups. There were no paper towels in the restroom to dry your hands. Positive: Professionalism, QualityI just got a 90 minute Swedish Massage with Greg. I was very hesitant at first to have a male therapist but boy am I glad I did! He was FANTASTIC!!!! Deep enough to work out those tough knots (and NOT cause a bunch of pain in the process) and gentle enough to relax me— almost putting me to sleep! I also appreciated that he was quiet and let me enjoy my break from motherhood in peace. The ONLY thing I’m disappointed about is that we head back home to CO tomorrow. I just got a 90 minute Swedish Massage with Greg. I was very hesitant at first to have a male therapist but boy am I glad I did! He was FANTASTIC!!!! Deep enough to work out those tough knots (and NOT cause a bunch of pain in the process) and gentle enough to relax me— almost putting me to sleep!
