This was my first time visiting this salon and I had a great experience! Nothing spectacular but slightly exceeded my expectations. I got a basic pedicure and gel manicure and was pleased with both. Everything was professional and clean and my nails turned out really nice! My manicurist was thoughtful and quiet, which I honestly prefer when getting my nails done. They also had lots of color options. We made an appointment prior to going, which I would suggest as well given that there weren’t too many people in the shop available and the people before and after us also had appointments, so walk-ins might have a tough time getting seated.

Very clean, friendly staff, great customer service. The owner was very helpful and welcoming as soon as I walked into the shop. He helped his wife the entire time and she was cute and simply amazing. She did a wonderful job on my nail fill, pedicure and eye brow wax. This business is upscale and you get exactly what you pay for when you set your appointment. No waiting at all. I give them a 10/10.

Really wanted to like this place because it’s such a convenient location. The hours and prices online are wrong (open later, prices are higher). I had an appointment for 10:30, when I got there the door was locked and the lights were off, staff started rolling in in sweats a bit after 10:30. Manicure was mediocre and the tech messed up a nail trying to see if it was dry and then took 10 seconds to try to fix it but it didn’t look good. Too bad, this place is perfectly located but the service just isn’t there.

By far the worst place I’ve went to in DC. I knew the first time and I was desperate but from how understaffed they are to the unprofessionalism. I called for a nail repair and supposedly there was no one there to do it, I was disappointed but it was fine, no issues. They then call me back and say they can fit me in at 1:30 or 5:30, I chose 5:30. I then show up at 5:3 and they were talking about a whole different service. No one can do my nails, they don’t say come back at this time or anything just, bye. It’s Sunday and no one else can now do my nails this late and I’m screwed. Also, only four people work in the Nail shoo and they all only do one thing so if you want a mani pedi expect minimum of 2 1/2 hours because it will be one service at a time.

I’ve been looking for a good nail salon since I moved to DC and decided to try InStyle Nail Bar after getting 2 disappointing manicures at the salon right next to my apartment. Long story short, my search will continue. In the moment, the service seemed fine (not exceptional, but good enough) and they seemed to do a pretty good job with my nails. Once I got home, I realized that they didn’t properly buff the clear dip powder off and the speckles are showing through the gel top coat (which doesn’t last as long as the dip top coat, but that’s another story for another day…) as seen in the pictures I attached. I decided to just deal with it and move on until later that evening, one of my nails chipped. If you don’t already know… dip is hard to chip. But it did, so I made an appointment the next day to go back and get it fixed. Fast forward 24 hours and I show up to the salon, tell them I have an appointment at 5:45, and they proceed to tell me that I have no appointment (I showed them my confirmation email, they didn’t really care) and I can come back tomorrow. Problem is I’m leaving town tomorrow for Thanksgiving so that’s not an option, but now no one is available to fix my nails until 7 pm. Which means either waiting around for an hour or walking 15 minutes back to my apartment, sitting around for half an hour, and walking 15 minutes back to get my nails fixed. As if I have nothing better to do with my Monday evening, the night before I leave town for a week. I have about 25 more minutes to kill before I go back and get my nails fixed, but unless some miracle happens at 7 pm, I think it’s safe to say I won’t be going back. I guess I’ll keep looking for a decent salon in southwest DC, because this one isn’t worth my $100. I gave 2 stars because to be fair, the salon is very nice and clean.

Critical: ProfessionalismI walked into this salon to get 1 nail fixed. The guy at the desk asked me 1st what do I need to get done. When I told him what I needed, he stated, you need to have an appointment. Why wasn’t that the 1st question you asked me when I walked in? I told him I just needed to get 1 nail fixed and why couldn’t one of the ladies sitting in the window help me? He said because they have appointments. As I am sitting in my car they are still sitting in the same spot on their phones. I mean how long does 1 nail take? I honestly feel discriminated! This place never has business and I see why.I walked into this salon to get 1 nail fixed. The guy at the desk asked me 1st what do I need to get done. First off, you have to wear a mask here even though all the employees have theirs pulled down or hanging off their ears. My friend and I were halfway through our services when we were asked to put masks on (we didn’t see the sign). Then, I got a SNS manicure, but not without getting my existing SNS powder off first. It took the tech ~30 minutes to get it off — not sure if this was wrongdoing on her part or not. My nails don’t look great, it was done very sloppily. The nail tech was however very friendly. I won’t be returning here.

The service is great. I had a pedicure and the leg and feet massage was out of this world and I had my brows done. I will be returning soon.

I refuse to go anywhere else for my mani/pedi. Grace is very kind and skilled. She is always efficient and my nails last a very long time. She knows what she is doing and takes great care of me when I see her..the fact that remember me when I come in and are so warm and inviting keeps me coming back. The salon is clean and hygienic(which is important to me as a fellow beauty professional) and I always feel like a priority to my technician..I LOVE this place and recommend it to all of my clients, friends and family.
