They take you in fast unless you are waiting on an specific hair stylish, they treat you with respect and kindness. Neat, and beautiful place. And a big plus is that they have their own hair products line, with versions for every hair needs, I tried the ginger hair mask and I had to buy it right away because it was so great. I have thin, straight hair with coloring damage, and I saw an instant difference in it. Great place!

This is one of the salons I used to go to as a kid with my older sister. Apparently the salon is now owned by someone else, and if you read the comments it seems as though they no longer know how to do Black hair and are secretly perming their Black client’s hair. Most of the 5 star reviews are from white hispanic people or people that visited the salon for another service other than hair services.

Love this hair salon. I go everytime I am in the area. I have natural kinky curly hair and they get it pin straight without hurting my scalp or burning me. Also very fast. I have come here for sew-ins as well and they do the BEST.

The BIGGEST PROBLEM I have is there is NO price list posted. I have been going to salons for over 30 years and this is the first time there is no price chart on the wall. When asked they say after you get your hair done . If I tell you TOUCHUP and color and deep conditioner there should be a basic price, unless your hair is super long. I miss my hair dresser !

Wonderful shops and businesses. I visited Impressions once and for 12 years I couldn’t look anywhere else for quality service. They treated my hair, it grew long and healthy, and in the long run they became an important part of my self care routine in nyc. You can’t go wrong with their expertise, trust me.

The hair salon is literally the best!! ITS AMAZING! 5 stars for the hair salon. But for the nail part when you walk in everyone is staring at you, they have little to no understanding of what your saying(they don’t speak English) and they mess up you nails whether it’s acrylic basic manicure, pedicure etc. I 100% recommend you don’t go to the nail portion of this business. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

DO NOT COME HERE !! This place is no longer “Impressions.” I stopped by in need of an emergency wash and set. I lived in the area years ago when it was ran by Theresa. They secretly mix perm in the shampoo which is placed in a Head & Shoulders bottle. I know this because i was expecting a wash when an older woman put something in my hair. She kept rubbing in saying it was “special shampoo”. The consistency was very creamy/ perm like and i started to feel burning in my scalp. I have natural hair and my curl pattern has been ruined. They have no regard for healthy hair, and the fact that it is very much illegal to put chemicals in a client’s hair with out notifying them. Look around the salon, you’ll notice everyone’s hair is straight, but very thin and burnt.

So before I went to this salon I called three times to let them know that I am natural and that I do not use any chemicals in my hair. I also let them know I can not have excessive heat in my hair. They assured me that my hair would be properly cared for and that all their products were natural products that they make themselves . I went in for a wash n set. After my hair was washed and conditioned there was this lemon product used and it smelled so good that I didn’t think to ask what it was. After my hair was washed I noticed my hair was very different from when I washed my hair at home. It smelled differently and the texture was very different. I just assumed that it was the conditioner they used and it made my hair soft. When my hair was blow dried the woman then flat ironed a piece of my hair even though i stated before I sat in the chair that I could not have excessive heat on my hair. When I told her to stop she kept saying just a little bit to make it look nice. I told her no and then she finally gave up. Two weeks later my curls didn’t come back so I decided to wash it to see what was going on. Not only do I currently have heat damage but I also have chemical damage in my hair. When I called the salon to inform them instead of giving me a refund or atleast oferring one, they instead offered a free wash n set which showed the lady on the phone had not been listening. If you are natural do not go to this salon I was natural for years and now my hair is damaged and smells like burnt hair when I wash it.
