My hairdesser Tasha Duree rents a chair at Sunny’s. She does an excellent job of cutting my hair in such a way that it is extremely easy for me to style and maintain on my own. She is also very accommodating when it comes to scheduling my appointment and gives me helpful advice about keeping my hair healthy. I highly recommend her. *see below photo of my newest haircut*

I would like to share my experience I had with Nicole (Nicki) Owens at Images Salon recently. I am extremely offended and disappointed in how I was treated in the salon. When I originally called to set the appointment, I had mentioned to her that I had found her on groupon and explained to her what I wanted done with my hair. I explained it had growth and I was wanting to fix that and go through my hair with highlights and lighten my tips. I told her that for what I felt was needed, it was probably going to exceed the cost of the groupon and wanted to know how much more she though it would be. She told me she wouldn’t know until she got me in the chair to take a look. I was fine with that. My appointment was scheduled for 5:15 on 12/16/15. When she finally came up to get me for my appointment, I sat in her chair and explained what I wanted done. Her demeanor and voice tone sounded irritated. She talked to me like I was an idiot for not understanding the process to get the result I wanted. I had brought in pictures. Again, sounding annoyed, she proceeded to tell me that it would take 2 processes to reach the result I wanted and she wasn’t going to be able to do it all tonight and would run an extra $40 or somewhere around that amount and she was swamped so she wouldn’t be able to finish the 2nd process until next week. I told her I was okay with that. She then proceeded to mention that it was very frustrating to her that I didn’t give her a heads up that my hair was long and that she would need to do a “color correction” (also annoyed she explained she wished her customers were more educated in hair to be able to tell her that and I was the 2nd customer who had done this to her) she said a “color correction” would normally cost over $200. I felt that I had mentioned enough to her on the phone conversation to have satisfied her. She then tells me that we should probably figure it out because she had an appointment after me. That’s when I voiced my frustration asking her why she was being rude and not making me feel comfortable sitting in her chair. I was shocked at the treatment I was receiving and I was not going to let her treat me that way. She then said maybe it’s best if you just return the groupon. I was absolutely satisfied with that response because I would NOT HAVE RETURNED regardless to have her color my hair. I was frustrated that I had waited for this appointment and had actually booked this appointment, I asked if she would at least cut my hair since I did go through all of the trouble. She refused. THANKFULLY I was able to get in last minute to the Pamala Gilmore Salon in West Des Moines. Cassie was the gal who cut my hair and she was AMAZING!! She was so great at explaining what she was doing, shampooed, conditioned, cut, and styled my hair. I also showed her the same photo I showed Nicole on how I wanted my hair colored. Cassie sounded very comforting that she would be able to get me to the result I desired. I have an appointment booked with her next week. I know I am good hands and am willing to pay $200+ for service like that! (btw, the only reason I purchased the groupon was they were offering an extra % off of beauty and Nicole did have an impressive positive rating on groupon and was definitely willing to take my chances. Boy was I fooled.
