For context – I’m a 40ish year old guy who kept his hair short for 12 years. Since covid started, I hadn’t gotten a hair cut since April 2020. By December of 2020, it was about collar bone length, I loved the length of it so I definitely want to keep it, just needed to give it some shape. I went to my barber who I’ve been going to for years and he was honest and told me he will butcher it and to find a stylist. He told me to find someone with experience in cutting long hair, especially curly hair like mine. I went to 4 salons in 2 years and never wrote reviews because it demanded I give them at least 1 star when they deserved 0. All of the places I went to were friendly, but if i wanted to pay $50+ to not have them listen to what I wanted and look like I cut my hair myself with a steak knife, it would have saved me time and money. After every one of these bad cuts, I would realize how bad it looked and how much time I would have to wait to get it back to the length I wanted only to have the next stylist mess it up again. I was thinking of tying knives to a ceiling fan and standing on a chair under it to go show them the results were the same. Then I went to Ilda’s salon in Tarrytown.

Went in with my elderly mother, to do a new. Color, loved it so much I got a haircut and I normally don’t go to a salon for that. But I loved it and my wife that was with me ended up getting a cut and new color because of how beautiful my mom’s hair came out. Very cozy place, we love the staff and ambiance. All the ladies are very friendly and knowledgeable about all hair types and care! I went for a Ouidad curly cut and it was beautifully done by Bella! She did a wonderful job!! She has a warm and friendly personality and after speaking with her about my hair and what I wanted she definitely gave me the best cut possible for my voluminous hair. I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking to really care and learn about their hair!!
