Got to experience a couples massage here yesterday, and it was everything the Twin Cities has been missing for a spa experience! The staff is highly professional and operates like a well oiled machine from start to finish. The fact that the steam room, salt room, hot tub, and sauna are co-ed make it great for couples and groups of friends. Would loved to have been able to order food/lunch to the spa, but the hotel only had a grab and go cafe open during the daytime.

I booked a group of 3 of us with Idlewild for an afternoon and we stayed at the hotel as well. I was super impressed! Everyone I talked to throughout booking and going was nice and professional. As others have mentioned, the salt cave, sauna and outdoor whirlpool are so cool to have access to! The facility is so nice. As an added bonus there’s flavored water and little snacks. You can order wine and champagne too which would have been fun but we didn’t partake this time. I got a Nordic facial and a Glycopeel and it was amazing. I definitely will come back!

What a beautiful spa. My wife and I, as a Valentine’s present to each other, spent the morning at Idlewild. The facilities are gorgeous, and are Nordic inspired, just as the rest of the hotel is. My wife had a facial, and reported to me that her therapist was professional and she enjoyed her experience. I had a massage, which was done in one of the hotel luxury suites! Never had a massage in front of a fireplace before in such a grand location. We also were able to use the rest of the spa facilities, which included a salt room, a sauna, a steam room, as well as an outdoor hot tub, which was quite an experience at 3° F. We also could have used the hotels indoor pool, which was just outside of the entrance to the spa but we weren’t interested that day. Overall it’s a wonderful spa, with very attentive and experienced staff. Based on the proximity to us, we definitely will be back again in the future.

We came a bit before our appointment and got an early start checking out the sauna, steam room, and salt relaxation room after a tour from the staff. After a nice cup of tea we headed in for our Couples Sea Restorative Ritual, which was super relaxing. Our massage therapists were really great, it was very comfortable and calming for both of us. After our treatment, we went to use the outdoor hot tub that is available to guests of the spa, and it was definitely a highlight of our trip!We loved sitting outside in the hot tub after our massages. Perfect hot tub weather – it was 28 degrees and very gently snowing. We came a bit before our appointment and got an early start checking out the sauna, steam room, and salt relaxation room after a tour from the staff. Not impressed at all. Had a couples massage with my husband today. I don’t think the massage therapists even looked at the request forms they had us fill out. The sauna was not hot. 22% gratuity is charged at the end for a tip so our total bill was about $427 for a 50 min couple massage. If your going to charge these prices and have a mandatory gratuity make sure your customers are happy.

I’ve gotten massages before but never went to a place that has the whole spa experience! I called too late and didn’t get to have the seaweed wrap but will have to go back for that someday. Everyone on staff was incredible! I didn’t catch the name of the girl at the front desk but she was so great! Helped with everything I asked for. Christine was an incredible masseuse! Easily my favorite ever since she explained things a little as she was massaging which I loved! Great to chat with and overall an excellent masseuse! I did just about everything they had to offer after my massage (including a personal bottle of champagne since, what the hell!?). Sauna, steam room, ice for in between, salt relaxation room, whirlpool, and comfy spots to sit everywhere! It was also gorgeous everywhere! Great way to spend the day for sure!

I enjoyed my long, languid day at Idlewild so much! For the cost of any service, you can while away the day at the spa, relaxing by the fire, chillaxing in the salt room, getting your drip on in the sauna or steam room, and bobbing in the outdoor jacuzzi. They have a basic snack bar, hot tea, and bottles of water. The interior design will knock your socks off! I had a facial that was relaxing, leaving my face dewy and rejuvenated. A couple tidbits they could improve…make sure the soap and hand towels are fully stocked in changing room, stock herbal teas (chamomile, ginger, lemon verbena) rather than just cafe breakfast tea, put hooks on the wall outside next to the jacuzzi so that my robe doesn’t have to sit on the ground, and consider a large glass carafe of ice cold spa water (infused with herbs, cucumber, etc). It would have been a refreshing contrast to the sauna, steam room, hot tub. Nobody should be drinking out of plastic water bottles anymore who cares about the earth and their health. Otherwise, great space Idlewild!

Horrible experience with 6 friends at this spa. We couldnt get a call back to confirm appointment so one of us went in person to confirm. The day we went the spa was so packed full of people we couldnt sit in the lounge before our appointments. The sauna, hot tub and salt room were all full of people and one of our group was taken to a hotel room for her massage. Without any notice. This is not ok. We will never go back or recommend this spa.

Tile was falling off sides of the hot tub and was laying in the tub. Jets for tub were very weak and didn’t seem to be operating properly. Garbage laying around in hot tub area with multiple pieces of siding missing and fire pit glass also missing. Very gross and tacky looking area to be relaxing in for the price you pay.
