Critical: ProfessionalismCame in to get all over foil hilights for a really bright ashy blonde. I’ve had my hair professionally done in the past 7+ years, but needed someone new as I just moved! Emma was really easy to book with and we made great conversation. However, more than 6 times (I stopped counting) she brought up me needing a trim (which I normally add into whatever coloring I’m getting done, but only Melody does haircuts and they start at $90 which I could not afford for just a trim) which made me start feeling really insecure as there was nothing I could do about it in that moment, Melody was booked and Emma doesn’t do trims. I digress, it wasn’t the biggest deal!As Emma is blowing out my hair I notice this pretty bad banding near my face and point it out to her. She says she does notice it and is trying to think of reasons it could be happening. Which at that point I’m not really worried why it happened but more focused on what we can do to fix it. I have been going blonde my entire life and always lift really quick and evenly so this was odd. Emma offers to fix it if I schedule a follow up. Great!I text Emma a few days later asking to follow up and she drops me as a client. She says my ends are too frail and that she actually really isn’t taking new clients right now (which is strange because I booked on the website no problem) so she can’t help me.The reason I’m writing this review is 1.I haven’t had banding issues previously. Any issues I’ve had with my color have been fixed that day so I don’t leave unhappy. 2. I was pretty disappointed in how the situation was handled. I wish Emma would’ve just told me then and there my hair couldn’t take her correction, instead of offering to fix it and then dropping me over text. I felt blindsided. 3. I don’t think Emma had any intention of pointing out the banding as she was flat ironing my hair and never brought it up. I think she was going to let me walk out with an uneven color.Devils advocate: I understands she has no control over how the color lifts and how much toner the hair takes, its all hair science! The issue here is 80% customer service, 20% technique.I did ask for and get a partial refund ($100, I paid $260 including tip). And Melody does amazing cuts and Brazilian blow outs that are my jam! I love this place. I love these ladies.
