Was waiting to see if color would improve before writing this review. I’ve had some bad hair color jobs in the past but never have I walked out of a salon looking worse than when I walked in. Went in for a blonde balyage a week ago. I only had one request… whatever color it comes out as, please make sure its a uniform look throughout and not patchy. Not only did I not end up with a balyage or even a uniform look, I ended up with scattered chunks of black, blonde and red hair and a straight band of copper across my head. She also fried my hair.

The color work at HJH is very good but the punctuality and professionalism of this salon leaves a lot to be desired. Considering you’re expected to plonk down a credit card to book and pay for your metered parking in a very ticket happy part of town, I’m extremely disappointed by how late they are always running. No communication, no call beforehand to alert you, no one in the salon and saying “your stylist is running way late.” You’re just left to sit for 15, 20, 35 minutes wondering what the hell is going on. For this reason, I’m not going back.

Normally I don’t do this, unless something really made me mad. I had an appointment today. I did a consultation weeks back and made this appointment. I had a long process hair appointment considering I’m dying my hair vivid red and needs bleach since I’m a brunette. I did not get to go to my appointment because the girl called at 8am to let me know that unfortunately the girl took a “health day” and I could reschedule for tomorrow at 12:30. I called back and not only did they say they can’t do tomorrow, but they have to reschedule to next week. I think in my opinion that the people you canceled on should have priority . I was willing to drop money for it and it’s frustrating that they have no concept of other people work.

I went to Jhenry for a hair cut last night. My stylist was Tamiko and she did an amazing job! I could tell how skilled she was just from watching her cut my hair. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI was able to get a last minute appointment with Annette after work in the evening for a color. She was AMAZING. I have very curly hair that is dry and needs a little extra love so I’m always nervous about going. She listened to my needs and I am so happy with the results. She took her time and stayed late with me to make sure every hair was cared for before walking out that door. I am so happy with my results. I don’t get my hair done often, but I will be coming back regularly now. I have very curly hair that is dry and needs a little extra love so I’m always nervous about going. She listened to my needs and I am so happy with the results. She took her time and stayed late with me to make sure every hair was cared for before walking out that door. I am so happy with my results.
