I highly recommend the salon removing the “silk press” option from their website as it is misleading.Full Story:On her first attempt at the style, my hair was stringy because Gina put too much oil product on my hair. I gave her the opportunity to fix it so she washed, blow-dried, and flat-ironed it again. She did a “blowout” before putting the flat iron to my hair again. However, my hair was still curly after her blowout (this should have been the first red flag). She then flat ironed my hair without combing through it as she went, a practice commonly referred to as “the chase method”. When I told her about this method, she said she hadn’t heard of it before and continued on her usual way. I thought it may have been ok since she says she’s been doing hair for over 15 years. She added curls per my request to give my hair more volume. When I arrived home, I combed out the curls in order to wrap my hair and discovered that my hair was not straight and stood out from my head. I sent Gina a picture, and she preceded to make excuses about why my hair ended up looking the way it did. She offered for me to come back in so that she could fix it, but after already giving her two tries and realizing that she does not have the skill set or knowledge necessary to do a silk press I requested a refund. She then stopped responding. I have tried several times to reach out to her via phone and text message with no response. This was an extremely disappointing experience given the previous reviews.
