Highbrow Studio is a new concept studio located in the beautiful North Loop, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Highbrow Studio came from a demand for a service that so many desire. Our service compliments the natural shape and color of eyebrows. Our mission is to provide a high quality experience in a comfortable and professional atmosphere. We take pride in the meticulous and detailed process of tattooing realistic hair strokes one by one to create the illusion of fullness.

She’s an artist. I have medium brown skin and dark eyebrows. My main issue was sparse and short – I just wanted some microblading (no shading). It was easy breezy. Ally is fun and my brows are very natural. She seems like a good fit for whatever you may want/need, but I would say especially for those wanting to ease into microblading because she confirmed you can always add more/go darker at touch-up.

This review is not written with malicious intent, only transparency. I recently had an appointment booked with Ally to have my eyebrows microbladed. I saw her work on social media and was very impressed! I had been wanting to microblade for several years, but was looking for someone who was experienced and educated. I got to my appointment on Saturday and reviewed the paperwork/ signed consent for the procedure. We mapped out my eyebrows and were getting close to the actual process, when Ally told me she would no longer be able to work on me because she had suddenly became ill. I was bummed that she couldn’t complete them, but was forgiving as we all know what it’s like to suddenly become ill. Before leaving, I mentioned the dates I would next be available, and Ally reassured me that she would be in contact with me. She even mentioned she would give me a discount on the rescheduled procedure due to the inconvenience (as I had driven about an hour and a half to the studio). I hadn’t heard from Ally by Monday and I was a little frustrated that she hadn’t contacted me to reschedule, so made a point to follow up. I was still complying with pre-microblading guidelines just in case she would call me and fit me into her schedule. I never heard anything from her on Monday, so I continued to remain patient. The next morning, I received an unexpected text message saying that after some reconsideration, and due to my “undecidedness and hesitation,” she would no longer be willing to provide me her service. I was very saddened by this speculation and I even made a point to ask her if anything else weighed in on her decision (the structure of my eyebrows, etc.). She mentioned that my eyebrows were doable, but that she was choosing not to go forward with the microblading. I was very taken back, embarassed, and felt singled out due to the mere fact that I was observed as a poor candidate primarily because of perceived hesitation. I’m still confused about what gave her that impression, because I genuinely felt excited for a transformation. I wish she would have addressed those observations (or at least discussed those perceptions professionally) before rejecting and dismissing me as a client. At the end of the day, transparency goes a long way. Although Ally seems like a good human, I was offended by the way the entire situation was handled, especially when it could have been a very positive experience for someone who was looking forward to the process for the very first time.
