After leaving my appointment today I can say that I have never felt so unwelcomed in a salon. I just moved to longview and was looking for a nice salon just for a trim and style. I made an appointment for 1pm but was left waiting until 1:30 while the stylist finished her previous appointment. I had no problem with waiting but if I knew it meant my appointment would then be rushed I would have left. She didn’t even spend 30 minutes on my hair, which most of that time was used blow drying my hair. The whole time I felt more like a burden to her than a client. I’ve never left a hair salon and the stylist not show me the haircut or ask if I liked it. She just rushed me to the front to pay. Overall I feel as if it was a waste of $60 and I could have gotten better treatment and results anywhere else. If she didn’t want to cut my hair so bad she didn’t have too.

Caroline is AMAZING! Since moving to Longview 2 years ago, I’ve tried many hairstylists, never getting the exact cut I was looking for, that WOW moment, until I took a chance with Hidalgo Hair Studio/Caroline. On the first visit she did an amazing cut/blowout and so I made an appt to get some highlights and was blown away. She recommended some options, we agreed and she nailed it! I have not had my hair cut since before Covid hit- so over a year. My layers had grown out, my ends were ragged. I tried trimming them myself but they still looked weak and thin. I made the appointment on-line with Sydney. She has long hair and was able to keep my length, comply with my desire to use the CurlyGirl method, get rid of the shagginess and make my hair look good again. Thanks Sydney!

The salon is beautiful and I loved the sweet dog that roams around. Wonderful surprise. My stylist on the other hand, was immature and spoke only about herself, not letting me getting a word in edge wise. She did a good job on my color and highlights, but I really wanted more highlights but that was my fault for not saying anything.

I went there 2 times. Both of those times I was put with a very NEW stylist, like right out of school. They both thought they knew what they were doing. Not so much. So I thought I would try one last time and ask for an experienced stylist. Well the appointment I had and the one she had was different. I tried calling and left a message to be called back, four hours later I called her and just canceled everything. This place just doesn’t care about getting new customers to service. Seems like the good old girls rule. Won’t go back.

I can’t say enough good things about this salon and the team of ladies that work here. I’ve been to top dollar salons around the world and none of them compare to the service and culture at Hidalgo! They genuinely care about you and it shows every single time I’m in one of their chairs. I’ve been coming here since 2011 and HIGHLY recommend this salon. Critical: ProfessionalismI went to get a haircut from Courtney for the first time. The cut turned out good and the place was clean. Professionalism was lacking. When I told her what I wanted she said “oh my!” Clearly disliking it. Then proceeded to tell me that it would make my hair stringy. I was about to just leave and I think she could tell. She told me that she could do something similar that would work with my hair. The appointment was awkward after that. She later told me that another stylist wanted this cut but that no one would give it to her.When she went to style my hair she grabbed a flat iron so I thought she was going to straighten it but was curling it. I told her I didn’t want it curled. 1. I wear my hair straight 2. Hairstylists do that a lot of times to hide mistakes. After I told her not to curl it she kept insisting on it. No means no. Today I had my first visit to Hidalgo. Carli was amazing. She was friendly, and professional the whole time. I have really thick hair, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a stylist mess my hair up, but not Carli. She had me walking out of the salon looking and feeling beautiful in a hr. I walked into the place to get a haircut and there’s nobody in there at all. Not a single employee in sight. I had to raise my voice saying “hello” just to get somebody out of the back room. A woman comes out and all she tells me is “Oh we’re in the back taking photos we won’t be doing anything for at least a few hours or tomorrow”. Like ok if you’re doing all that then put a sign up saying you’re “temporary closed”. That’s just ridiculously rude. I just moved out here and have been looking for a hair salon but this certainly will not be the place. I would not recommend going here.
