Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityLet’s go back to the beginning of my microlocs Journey. I chose Akilah Head as my loctician because she seemed knowledgeable and professional about microlocs at my consultation. Day of install was 3/8/2020, on my way from Youngstown, Ohio I get a text from her, she is going to be late. Appointment was at 9am, did not start until 10:30am. 4/9/2020 was my 1st retighten but Covid-19 shut things down, but what I don’t like is how she cancelled my appointment with no communication. I’m new to this journey and I text her to see what I should do to maintain my hair? I was nervous because these are not traditional palm rolled locs. She did not respond and left me to figure it out on my own. I felt abandoned after paying $650 she neglected to find the time to respond. 6/13/2020 I get notified of appointment scheduled. At 1st I cancelled but decided to give her another chance because I love my hair. Appointment was at 1:00pm waited in the car until 2:00pm due to Covid-19. 7/17/2020 appointment at 9am, Yet again she calls me on my way to the appointment and says she is going to be late. I waited patiently because 222 is alot of locs to maintain. 8/21/20 3:30pm appointment I get a text at 8am she has to cancel due to illness and she will get me scheduled this week she asked when I was available I text her Monday, Saturday and Sunday. Today is 8/30/2020 and no response. At this point I am now a DIY because it’s hard to find someone in the Youngstown/ Cleveland area who is professional and with good communication skills. I will save my money. I tried to review her on style seat but someone took the liberty to review her and gave 4.8 stars. They are false reviews If I could give 0 stars I would. It doesn’t matter how good your craft is it’s how you treat your customers. Please be advised if you choose her. I wish that I would have looked beyond her. She also kept making me aware that she is a lesbian, unprofessional. No more stress and disappointment for me. No need to respond! ‍♀Update 9-9-2020. She has definitely confirmed how unprofessional she is with her response. I recommend anyone seeking out microlocs or SisterLocs seek elsewhere for your loctician. This is a new journey and no one should ever be left with unanswered questions. She was not in recovery, she saw my review and felt the need to respond to justify her actions. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueHappy new year Akilah,I hope you’re staying safe and healthy. Just know that i’ll be patiently waiting for you to return and i hope all of your clients can and will do the same. Everyone should be able to be understanding and caring at times like this. Please do not rush back and return until you’re more than 100% ready to. Everyone should take the time out to embrace their journey, save some money and let their new growth become thicker in the process. We can go awhile without a retwist. It won’t kill us.
