Captain, caaaaaaave maaaaaaan. Well that’s how I was feeling after 8 months without a haircut. With lock down coming to a close, I figured “time for a haircut, worst case I’ll shave my head” well, I find a place in my country bumpkin of a home town, that isn’t named “Hair by Dorthy”. Not that grandma can’t slay it with those 1950s shears and straight razors, but I wanted to look more like (Pinocchio voice) a real boy. Walk jn and the place has a bunch of moms waiting for their kids. Enough to where I didn’t have a spot to sit without moving someone’s phone & purse.,so I walk around a bit until it’s my time. To bad little buddy wouldn’t let me play pool with him, 7 year old are relentless. Next thing you know, a Hispanic guy pops around the corner with an extra chair like Rosie from the Jetsons. Neat, that will come in handy as I sit down and look around the place. I did notice the place needs a little dusting, or else the Texans memorabilia won’t shine like it should. However, despite the dust I also noticed other cleaning practices that were awesome. So don’t let it stress ya. My turn up, and I’ve never had my hair this long. Which means, I hand him my phone with a picture… “can you do this…[yes]… MY MAN!” I swear to you that man, Mr Juan Monzano spent detailed amounts of time making sure all lines looked great. May or may not have fallen asleep a few times, but that was awesome compared to the forced “how’s ur sister…. Oh, you don’t have one” conversations you tend to have at the hair by dorthy places”don’t get me wrong, we talked about whatever either of us wanted, without me every feeling like I was ready to leavs. Just, when its time for a man to work, he works! Respect. Bam, done, and awe geez Rick, I feel great going from caveman to viking that quick. “Oh…. My…. Gawd… Yall don’t take debt/CREDIT… be right back I need to go to AMT.” No problem bro. Can’t explain how refreshing that was after the slight panic! Haircut was $25,beard was $10, & I left a $10 tip cause (again) he put a ton of TLC into each part of the fade/detail. I’ll see em next time. No doubt
