Head Husky Barber Styling Shop established in 1951 as The Campus Barbershop on Rt 195 in Mansfield by Albert Laundry. In 1978 the shop changed hands to George Skora as Skora’s Barber Styling Shop. Albert continued to work with George till Holly Kennedy joined the two master barbers in 1984. All three worked together till Albert died in Feb 1989. George continued training Holly untill Holly bought the business from George in 1990. George continued working until he retired in 1996. George was heart broken when he stopped the trip to Storrs. Holly continued owning and working at Skoras until she moved to 9 Dog Lane & changed the name to Head Husky Barber Styling Shop in 2012. Now 38 years later, still cutting men’s and women’s hair & love it.

The owner is friendly, however she has a habit of stopping the haircut entirely for lengthy periods to gossip. Also I’ve received condescending looks when I’ve asked for an adjustment to my haircut. The other reviewer is correct in his description of walk-in experiences too, so if you do decide to go, make sure you have an appointment. Not worth $20 in my opinion.

High priced haircut for a place that doesn’t maintain their razors. Had my hair pulled by the razor on two different visits (also my only two). The lady was nice and apologized for not oiling the blade, but this shouldn’t happen twice. I want to like this place due to its great location but unfortunately I cannot. I won’t be going back to this place.
