I have been going to Hazuki for almost a year now, and I have absolutely loved the services there. Keiji is my stylist, and he has given me a great look that’s given me lots of compliments. I can show him any style and he can find a way to make it work. I have very thick, coarse hair, but it’s not a problem for him. We’ll do the haircut and have some laughs, and by the end of it, he’ll often give me tips or suggestions to take care of my cut. I can’t wait for the next one to see what he can pull off!

I’ve been in Hazuki for a year. My previous stylist left and I had Keiji as my stylist. He did a talented job. That’s how I like Japanese stylist work on Asian hair. He understand my hair texture and did nice layers to shape them in a good style.

would add a sixth star if i could. i don’t usually leave reviews but just left the hair salon and got exactly what i asked for. the temperature of the water (shampoo) was perfect. a lot of attention to detail. usually when i ask for a specific length of cut at a hair salon i always exit with hair stringy and shorter than what i asked. they cut perfectly, and said that if any adjustments were needed to it i could return. i will be returning, no need to look elsewhere for a haircut 🙂

I am looking for a stylist in New York to do my hair, and Keiji was the first one I tried; he gave me a haircut first, normally I like the stylist to express his/her creativity freely just by the way he/she handles the cut I requested, Keiji was definitely confident in his “way” (that he brought with him from Osaka) and the overall look I got from my first haircut was very nice. I went back two weeks later to get my hair colored, Keiji touched up on my highlights and the colors turned out vibrant and subtle. I also like the salon space itself, it’s never too crowded and it felt relaxing to be there for my HAIR DAY.

They saved me I came here today at 1:00 for my haircut as a 12 year old and everyone was so nice. I showed Sara my hair dresser videos and pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like and how long and she completely understood. I had an appointment here yesterday for the first time, and my experience was so great. I bleached and cut my own hair for a few years, so it was in bad condition. But my stylist Keiji was really attentive and listened to what I wanted and we spent a lot of time talking about what was possible. I was getting some of my hair bleached, the rest of it dyed back to my natural color, and a haircut. I asked him a lot of questions about how to take better care of my hair and he answered all of them thoroughly while also doing an amazing job styling it. I really enjoyed having my hair done by him and I’ll definitely be coming back in the future! I highly recommend this place.

I was very happy with my haircut / Japanese perm. It’s set in a large, open-air space next to a Japanese grocery store. Beware that they only take cash or checks, no credit cards, which seems pretty unreasonable in this day and age, but the experience of the stylists (and importantly proximity to home) made it worthwhile.
