This place had that old timey feel, but it’s really just run down. There was hair all over the sinks and clippers. The barber I had did not give me the haircut I asked for, he was hesitant to do anything. I told him twice to shorten up the front. To say they do razor shaves is an understatement, the barber barely shaved anything off the back and sides. Don’t recommend coming here.

Hands down the best barbershop I have ever been too. Anyone that complains about this place need to go to a salon where they ask you what number guard you want. I take both my sons there as 4th generation Harvey customers. This place is truly a Beaufort institution and anybody that says otherwise can move back to wherever they came from.

Moved to Beaufort 3 months ago and finally needed to get a haircut. I Googled “best barbers in Beaufort, SC” and Harvey’s was the highest rated and the most convenient. I called and John told me to “come on over”. It was quick, courteous, and enjoyable. I look forward to going back which says a lot!!

Friendly but old, dingy and out of touch. Barber cut my sons hair poorly and seemed aloof regarding contemporary styles. And in the end it was $17 for kids haircut. If you find another option, take it. unless you want to step back about a half century.

I went in on a Monday morning so there was no wait. They were friendly. I asked for a military haircut and least to say it was not the best one I’ve had around here, especially for $17. The guy who cut my hair shook a lot and would pull on my hair with the clippers. After I left, I noticed I had uneven patches on the back of my head. I would not recommend to military members.

I love going to Harveys. It’s like a barber shop should be. Like Mayberry. Wanna come in and chat? Fine. Read a book or the paper? Good. Watch a little TV with friends? Great. Or just watch people pass by the window. It’s all there. A friendly place to hang your hat and slow down for a while. Oh yes, and you can get your hair cut too. Just had mine cut today and Johnny did a heck of a job. See you all there soon, I hope.
