I am not from this area, but I was in town visiting family for the holiday. I was getting headaches every day, and with a history of migraines, I was like NOPE. So I looked for massage places in the area, saw that Hand and Stone had an opening the same day, so I grabbed it. Since I’d never been there, I also got their introductory rate which was even better. I saw Erica, and this girl was a life saver!! She immediately was so personable and real. She took the time to really listen to why I was there for headache relief, so she recommended peppermint essential oil to help and it really did! She focused mostly the whole massage on my neck, head, and face and it was SO needed. Some of it, like the mini cold stones, were a little painful but I also knew that this was really the THERAPY side of massage therapy and it was probably necessary. At the end, I felt like I could breath so much better and my headache was gone. Erica also gave me tips during the massage to help alleviate headaches and other body tensions. When I checked out, there was no pressure to become a member or anything. It was a great experience all around and whenever I’m back in the area, I’ll definitely be visiting Erica!

Very POOR communication & customer service. This company continually charged me for my membership (about $60/month) in 2020 for each month they were closed during the pandemic (a total of 4 months March to June). In these months, I received ZERO communication regarding an opening date, so I had no way of knowing I was able to access my already paid services again come June/July (I finally got around to calling about my membership and was told they closed briefly for 4 months). Also in these months, I had absolutely NO confirmation of my written termination request (to end my membership), despite multiple attempts to email & call the spa (I even went so far as to attempt contacting the headquarters). I was forced to contact my credit card company to have them deny further charges from Hand & Stone, at which point 4 months had already passed and I had been charged. In order to access my already paid 4 services, I now need to re-signup & pay about $70-75 first. No thank you. Will not be visiting any location of Hand & Stone ever again. Extremely disappointed in the lack of communication, especially while they were taking money from my account.

I have a membership and look forward to my facials. I see Julie all the time. She is knowledgeable, professional and so friendly. She explains each step and her room is so peaceful and clean. I can often drift off during my facial. Do not hesitate to book!

I just left my facial with Laura. She was gentle, caring and so knowledgeable. She asked me my needs before my appointment and tailored my care specifically to my skin type. Laura even gave me pointers that I could use with my home skincare routine. I have already rebooked my appointment with her for next month! Thanks Laura!

The massage wasn’t really a massage – it was more like a crazy fast rubbing. I am concerned the therapist wasn’t properly trained. I wrote in the form I wanted a focus on my neck and shoulders and there was barely any massage on that portion. And the facial that was supposed to have a neck massage didn’t have one.

THE UNHAPPY ENDING…. this was just another typical Hand & Stone experience. Your marketing/sales practices are your own worst enemy and exactly why I avoid H&S. I returned for more of the same as I booked this visit with a gift card. The person who took the reservation even took the numbers off the cards so there should have been no surprises upon leaving. My daughter was happy with the her therapist, Paige. I had Laura who was excellent. I complimented her on being the first great person I’ve ever had as a therapist at any Hand & Stone. Unfortunately, upon checking out we had the usual annoying sales pitch from the front desk trying to sell a membership and a most unexpected upcharge that we weren’t paying for. If you want to add on “options” you should review that before the services begin and for the love of god if you want to increase business and sales, make sure your clients leave on a positive note and WANT to come back. If your clients can build a rapport they may actually spend more money in the long run.
