I was a loyal member at Hand and Stone for over 10 years. Over the years, they increased my monthly draft without notice and later started up charging for deep tissue massage. After several years of turnover I found a therapist on another website and I decided to cancel H+S.

Beware. It doesn’t matter how long you have been a faithful member, the membership paperwork you sign makes it so that they take one last payment from you if you don’t cancel on the day your payment goes out. Ultimately, they try to get as much money out of you as they can. Even though I remained a member ALL THROUGH COVID to support them. Also, I was treated very rudely by a member of staff at another location based on very sensitive medical information. At this location I was asked if I was pregnant out in the open in the lobby. Super inappropriate. Back when they moved from Lincoln Square, they tried to tell me that I would lose time off my service for being late to an appointment when they hadn’t bothered to inform me that they had moved. I then got a massage by a very, very chatty therapist who was much more interested in talking about her life than following through with my service. Don’t join Hand and Stone. It isn’t worth it.

Had my prenatal massage today with Heather. I was super nervous because i never had a massage before but she was super welcoming and comforting. Found comfort in visiting for the hour as well. Good conversation and i left feeling so much better with my back pain. The ladies at the front desk were also kind and welcoming!

The front desk staff was NOT welcoming at ALL. First impression is important. Treated like a number not a value customer. The massage room was not inviting nothing personable about the room, just a room. I told the therapist I was cold. The table got warm on one side. But what she do turn the fan on. Which made a lot of sense if I was cold. Overall all it wasn’t the best experience at this location.
