The negative reviews are all true. The work place seems toxic. My therapist greeted me with a very kind smile and then suddenly the front desk associate stopped her and yelled at her about another appointment right in front of me I couldn’t believe how nasty the front desk was treating her. The massage was fantastic but you could feel the tension after that. The spa has really been spiraling down hill the last 6 months. I see a really high turn over rate in therapists. Judging by the attitude I witnessed I can understand why. It’s about as bad as Massage Envy. They can’t seem to keep any good therapists for very long. The manager Craig is very unprofessional. (Like other reviews have mentioned about him) I let him know about the interaction and he just blew it off. He didn’t want to hear it at all. If you are set on a Hand and Stone then I highly recommend making the little extra drive to the Davis Blvd Naples location. The atmosphere is way less hostile and the employees seem happier which leads to a more relaxing and satisfying experience.

The negative reviews are all true. And disclaimer – we had a membership with Hand & Stone in Toronto when we lived there for two years and loved it! But this location hurts their brand badly. I had the worst massage ever – it was as if the therapist wasn’t even a professional. I suggested he could apply more pressure but that changed nothing. He yawned through it. On too of that, It’s supposed to be 50 mins hands on… it was 40. (My appointment was at 5:00 and I was in front of the desk at 5:50) It’s the only time I was happy for a massage to be over, as it was totally aggravating. I very quietly shared my feedback with the sales associate (who is lovely). But at the end of the day, they gave me a whopping 15 percent off. So, I went in for a little R&R and left feeling COMPLETELY taken advantage. After all, I still paid about $75 for nothing. Skip this location at all costs.

My husband had a massage and I had a facial. My facial was about 40 minutes. He talked for the first 15 minutes and then I used the restroom and then a half hour into my facial he said my facial massage would be cut short.

I’ve been to many H&S locations on the East Coast. The staff is excellent and the therapists are good. I have to say that the biggest distractor is the manger. His office is right behind the front desk. He leaves his door open and his office is a MESS. He has visitors talking loudly or is constantly on the phone – sometimes on speaker. You can hear him yacking down the hall when in the room in the middle of your massage. He never greets customers and acts as if we are in is way as he stomps around the lobby. You can tell that he makes his staff very uncomfortable. If you can get beyond that, it’s a great location.

I made 4 massage appts a month in advance for my daughters and me, all at noon for a bday celebration. On our way there, Hand and Stone called to say that 2 were canceled due to a sick therapist. I asked why 2 were canceled as we had 4 different therapists scheduled. They said one was scheduled for 2:00pm and when I told them I had several text confirmations of noon for everyone, they realized that was correct, then said one therapist was sick and one no longer worked there. Crazy! I asked them if they just then realized th, ey we, re short an employee as they called while we were in route. The guy whom I spoke was not profes manager wasn’t in. I mentioned their cancellation policy that they informed me of numerous times, via text if we cancelled within 24 hrs. They offered nothing to me if they canceled us within 1 hr. If I had to pay for this, they get my review: biggest waste of $$$. If I wanted a rub down, I’d have my spouse do it. When I asked for more pressure (since I was paying for deep tissue), the person scoffed at me…literally. I asked for one specific area but the person decided to still do a full body. I watched the time: 44 minutes and the person was gone. Wish I hadn’t even paid.

Update…as requested I sent an email to the mgr of this location almost 2 months ago regarding the poor experience I encountered. Still have not been contacted. Their reply to my review is simply a facade to make themselves look better.

Came here on a gift certificate. The lobby is very nice, clean and presented well. My service was not that great. The woman who gave me a massage was sub-par at best and did not accurately listen to areas that I wanted her to avoid. I may come back and try a different masseuse.

This was my first visit to Hand & Stone, so I booked a 1 hour massage and added a 10minute scalp massage to it. When I arrived, the front desk girl was very sweet and confirmed my services with me.
