I have been working with hand and stone for about two weeks! I don’t even feel like I’m going to work. I feel like H&S is my second home literally! Everybody is so cool, I was TRAINED PROPERLY, and most of all the manager has a beautiful spirit! She treats you with respect in spite her authority. That’s rare! Our spa is always CLEAN and cozy which makes coming to work something to look forward to. I couldn’t ask for a better place to begin my career as a licensed massage therapist ❤️❤️❤️‼️

They just raised their prices on many massages by $10. Currently they are having a BOGO sale on gift cards – buy one for about $110 and get one free, but that offer is only for non-members. The offer for members is buy two for about $80 each and get another $80 free, but do the math: non-members only spend a total of about $110 and get a free total of about $110 while their loyal members have to spend a total of about $160 and only get a free total of about $80. I think that’s totally unfair. Also, referring to the Park Terrace Drive location in Columbia, SC, they have the absolute cheapest bathroom tissue in the restrooms and the bathroom tissue holders in both of them have been broken for months. I keep on pointing attention to address that issue but it only fails on deaf ears. They are usually fully booked and you have to make appointments days ahead. On the good side, I like my massage therapist and need to go in once a week so I make sure that I schedule my appointments months ahead of time. I also like the fact that I can accumulate points towards upgrades, free massages, etc. by simply booking ahead of time either at the front desk or online and doing other things that don’t cost extra money.

First time at this Facility. Greeted when we came in and lobby looked nice. Chairs were low and uncomfortable, however we were only there for 10 minutes or so. Went to our room for the massage and once you pass through the lobby to get to the back there was this overwhelming smell like you were at the back of a Japanese steak house. Horrible smell and no better once you were in the room. I asked the employee about it and they said that they get the vents from the restaurants in that shopping block. Why there’s not any aromatherapy of any sort blew my mind.

I went to this location today for a facial and was not the best facial. I had Sam and she was very nice but I expect for these appointments to be a time for me to relax- she was very chatty the entire appointment and makes it very hard to just relax and enjoy. She was very gentle with her extractions but I don’t feel as though so extracted as much/as well as I had been hoping. She grabbed me 3 minutes late for my appointment, started officially working on my face 9 minutes after scheduled appointment, and was done with 10 minutes left in the hour….. how is that a 60 minute facial or close? I hold a monthly membership with hand and stone and I left pretty disappointed. I enjoy coming here and like the environment provided but I need it to always be a great experience and not so wish washy for the price they ask.

Got the couples massage with my girlfriend. I feel like the price was slightly high but not outrages. The service was great though. Our therapists were very responsive to comments and preferences. Before I felt very tense, after I was shocked at how loose and freed up I felt. Worth the go. Just get a massage already.

Facility is clean and inviting in the lobby. Rooms are clean as well. Staff seem professional and always thanked for coming by and answered any questions about their services. My own massage was alright. Certainly not the best or the worst but could have been better. I opted to get the add-on of the feet wrap and scrub ($10 add-on)as well and that was priced correctly. I did get this massage with an introductory offer of 59.95 and I think for that price, the massage was priced accordingly. However, their normal price of 89.95 I do not think it would be worth in with my experience. The other item that did not sit well with me either is that the total time spent out of an hour massage actually massaging was only 45 minutes (hit the timer on my phone at start and stop and watched the clock). I do realize that the hour is to include dressing and consultation time but there is no reason to need 15 minutes for that total. This is why I think the $60 price is perfectly acceptable for the massage I received.
