The massages and facials, themselves, are totally fine. Management on the other hand is completely unprofessional. Had a gift card, went to use it and was told since it didn’t come up in their system because “sometimes they put them in wrong” I was going to have to pay out of pocket. Was asked who purchased the gift card. Suggested maybe my mom. She checked her account and stated she had multiple gift cards that could be used and asked if I wanted to use one. How can you allow someone to use a gift card on someone else’s account without consent? When I responded no, she called her manager who stated that I’d have to pay out of pocket as well. Instead of simply taking my name and phone number down to look into when she came back in. Minutes later, the other girl at the desk found the gift card in the system, magically! Very disappointed with the customer service. Will not be returning.

This location is a nightmare!!!! I was given a gift card for a couples massage and this location was the only one accepting them at the moment. This was back in December. My husband and I decided to sign up for the membership after the lady talked our heads off about only having to pay $40 for the membership since we were there for an appointment. Prior to signing up I asked her if the weekends would be okay because we live 2 hours away and that’s the only days we were willing to make that drive. She said absolutely they were always staffed. We went ahead and signed up. 2 weeks later I noticed I was NOT charged $40 for either account. So I called inquiring about the overcharged and the associated apologized and told me the manager would refund the difference. This happened in December and I have yet to see that refund.

After confirming cancelation of my membership, they fraudulently continued charging my credit card totalling over $700! The manager apologized for the oversight and agreed to refund the money over a month ago! I still haven’t gotten the refund and keep getting the run around. The regional manager has not returned my phone call. I’ve been very patient but will have no choice but to file a small claim to get the money back with interest.

They are very nice to you as long as you remain a client but when you want to end your contract – it’s a nightmare. A friend of mine tried a year ago and they gave her the runaround so she is still stuck paying monthly. I am in the midst of trying to cancel my subscription and it’s been very frustrating. It may just be a bad manager at the Newtown Square branch. Maybe they’re not all so bad. Don’t want to condemn the whole company, but Newtown Square manager is impossible to reach by phone, email or in person and yet without her, you cannot get out of your subscription. As I said, my friend had the same experience a year ago. I give them 1 star for nice receptionists. 0 stars for the way they run their business. Unethical in my opinion.

Critical: ProfessionalismI had an appointment last month with Jen who was absolutely amazing. I was pressured pretty hard by the women up front after my massage to get the membership. After I didn’t I was still pressured hard to make an appointment. Which I finally did so I could leave. I never received any reminder in any form of my next appointment.Fast forward to a month later, and I am currently at home with a severe migraine. I received a phone call from an unknown number. I didn’t answer again because I have a migraine. I looked at my phone thinking that I would receive a voicemail. I didn’t. This unknown number called me another 3 times in a row! Never leaving a voicemail. Finally the fourth time in a row they called my husband answered. It was the women at the front desk at hand and stone in new town square. My husband politely told her that I was sick and he apologized that I missed an appointment. He then said to her that he didn’t know what she wanted to do about rescheduling because he had to talk to me first. She than with a snarky attitude interrupted him and said “we charge half price for no shows”. And my husband said that we were not paying it and being penalized for me being sick and never receiving notification about this appointment. But my husband couldn’t finish that sentence because as he was speaking he was hung up on. I could hear the phone slam down on the other line. This is beyond unprofessional. As soon as she realized her extortion wasn’t going to work she hung up in the middle of the conversation. It’s a real shame that someone like that is employed there because my actual massage therapist was beyond amazing. Which is why I’m leaving 2 starts. If i was reviewing my massage therapist I would give her 5 stars. But having my phone blown up, never leaving a voicemail, then trying to have us pay half and being hung up on….I will never return to that location.I also want to mention that I was told multiple times that I can cancel whenever I want. I never signed anything and was never told about this “policy” of having to pay half. Again I will never be returning.I had an appointment last month with Jen who was absolutely amazing. Critical: ProfessionalismI really enjoyed my first massage there and was excited to sign up for the membership so I could come monthly. First of all, the pressure that was put on me to sign up for the membership was enough to make me not want to sign up for the membership. I only did so, because I carry way too much stress in my life and it’s one self care thing I considered doing. I was supposed to have a massage last week but they called me the NIGHT before and cancelled it because the therapist “couldn’t come in”. Fine, thats okay I will reschedule. I rescheduled it for this week, I get a call at 6:53pm saying that my appointment has been cancelled because the therapist “cant perform the service”. This is now two weeks in a row that my appointment has been cancelled and it is extremely frustrating. I am in a lot of physical pain and really need the service. Since late last year, I’ve been going to Hand and Stone Massage and Facial. I work a physical job at UPS and there are times where my muscles are so sore that just resting doesn’t alleviate the pain. Visiting Hand and Stone has. Highly recommended.

Always a great experience! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is relaxing. Yes, sometimes the front desk could be a bit busy, but they’re typically pleasant and courteous.

TERRIBLE!!! My appointment was for 10 This morning, I arrive at 9:45 and sat in my car until they opened. It is now 10:17 and STILL NOT open !!! employees and other guest are standing outside in the freezing snow! Unprofessional and unorganized. So glad I didn’t waste my money because my appointment is for 10 which is an hour long, i don’t want to be rushed because someone is late opening up. Never again!

I called to make an appointment and the young lady that answered the phone said she would call me back in five minutes when she was done looking over what appointments were available. 45 minutes later I still did not get a call back! I called Broomall instead and got an appointment.
