I went to Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa for the very first time on this past Friday, 9/30/22. I had the most amazing massage experience I have ever had! Jean was my masseuse and she was absolutely phenomenal!! My facial massage, which was my very first, was beyond words!! Maria was telling me step-by-step what she was going to do in such a quiet and calming voice so as not to disrupt the tranquil atmosphere. I walked out of the spa with such a relaxed and calming spirit around me! That feeling lasted the entire weekend and into Monday when I was back to work! I’m definitely going back to this fantastic spa. They are amazing people and I’m so glad that I went there!

The massage I received here was not a great as massages I’ve had in the past. First off, my appointment was scheduled for 11AM. To my knowledge, the place opened at 10AM. I got there a bit early and I tried to enter the location, but the doors were locked and it didn’t appear that anyone was inside. I was worried that I was not going to be able to follow through with my appointment, but someone finally unlocked the door. When it came time to have my massage, the therapist worked out tension in my upper back/shoulders and I ended up feeling physically sore afterward. That never happened to me with previous massages I’ve had elsewhere. The place was neat and tidy and the atmosphere was quiet and conducive to getting a massage.

I’ve had a membership for the past few months. The massages have been nice but I had an appointment for 12:00 today and the front door is locked and no one is answering the phones. Very unprofessional, looks like I’ll be canceling my membership.

I would beware of this place! A friend of mine and I tried to get gift certificates when they were running a special BOGO sale and they were not open even though it was within their hours of operation! We called several days in a row and there was no answer! My friend left a message with a phone number for them to call her back and she NEVER received a call!! VERY disappointing! We eventually decided to go somewhere reputable and bought our GC’s at Scott Miller!

I have been here for years. Today, they absolutely dropped the ball. I requested a different massage therapist. They called me 2 hours before my appointment to tell me that it was not an option. Then they said I was canceling my appointment and charged my account $34.99. I canceled and they told me that there would be one more payment taken out in 30 days. Not one of my questions was answered without attitude and sass. Then they told me I had 3 months to use my 3 credits. Well.. I had 7 credits as of yesterday. I am disgusted, I will be seeking a lawyer as they do not have permission to put their hands into my bank account. This is a huge problem. Do not lock yourself into a membership with these people. RUN. Support local therapists before these corporate monsters.

They never answer the phone have been trying to schedule for months, now I get an email saying I canceled membership. Plus I had multiple credits available and guess what after messages left and emails sent, no reply. Guess I’ll just have to go in person hope the owner is there

Massage was okay. Nice place, relaxing, friendly staff, but left still in the same pain I came in with, maybe worse. Didn’t really do much for me

I have been a member at hand and stone since 2016. I had been paying $50/month for a package- either massage or facial. Since then they’ve raised their prices twice but I was grandfathered in. I’ve never been able to go monthly bc of my busy schedule but i usually accrue many packages and then redeem them when i can. Around September of last year I was mysteriously booted, citing an issue with my credit card. It didn’t make sense at the time as it was the same credit card I use regularly and pay off bi-weekly. I have no issues with this credit card anywhere else so I thought it was odd. So after not being able to get hold of a manager, I tried to resolve it with the staff who swiped my card and then after some discussion- allowed me to have 3 packages back (i definitely had more than that) but raised the price of my package so i was no longer grandfathered in and now i was getting charged $60 monthly. I shrugged it off. I more recently got another email saying there was an issue with my card. Again, the same card I know is functioning well and I use all the time. They suspended my account and said I had 0 packages. The receptionist offered to have a manager call me back but no one has called me. This is not surprising- I’ve never seen the manager in staff and the last time there was an issue they were not available. It really is a shame bc in store the service is great and I’ve always loved my experience but I find it extremely odd given the timing of the prices being raised and me even coming in store and having my card re-entered into the system yet there is still an issue. I get the sense this is a franchise/managerial level issue and not something I blame the staff for at all but it has left a horrible taste in my mouth. I would suggest just paying in full for a massage elsewhere, maybe a private practice, which I will be pursuing from now on.

Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismI was purchased two gift cards for my birthday. When using the first, the experience was only okay. I got a deep tissue massage. I witnessed my masseuse coming into work moments before my appointment. When I was taken to the back he didn’t know what kind of massage I was there for and hardly asked any questions other than what area I wanted to focus on. He reeked of weed. Which doesn’t bother me, but don’t come into a supposedly relaxing setting, disrupting the atmosphere like that. The massage itself was pretty painful but not horrible over all.The ambiance of the whole facility was lacking. Not much relaxing about it and pretty sterile looking. No amenities for before or after your service.I booked a second massage for my second gift card and I had to cancel due to a family health situation and they were very unforgiving and still charged me 60$ for the cancelled appointment, on a card that was previously in their system. They didn’t tell me they were charging it. They charged it then left a voicemail saying they did it and rescheduled my appointment for that same evening at 7pm. I didn’t give permission for that card to be used or for the appointment rescheduled. The girl in her voicemail told me she only changed my appointment to open up the book for someone else to book the cancelled appointment. I got a number or changed appointment emails for various times. I’m most concerned about the charge to the card I didn’t even know they had on file since I wasn’t the one that purchased the gift cards and I only used the card to leave the tip.I was purchased two gift cards for my birthday.
