Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, QualityI don’t understand the high ratings for this place because I had a terrible experience. I knew exactly what I wanted done to my hair and I was NOT LISTENED TO whatsoever. I should have listened to my gut and walked out when I realized I wasn’t being listened to, but I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, this time to my detriment.I explained to Lori, the owner, I wanted natural looking HIGHLIGHTS and I got super bleach-blonde highlights, or should I say color, because I couldn’t even see my natural hair color through them, there were way too many. She completely damaged my hair in the process as I found broken pieces afterwards and it has a frizzy, damaged texture now. I asked for it to be layered in a certain way and she chopped at it instead of being careful so now I can’t even curl the ends up because the top layer is a bunch of different lengths. I didn’t notice it until the next day when I washed it at home because she styled it in a spiral curl fashion so I was unable to tell what the ends looked like while I was there. Also, her mirror is so high up you can’t even see yourself from the nose down! Not to mention she layered it so that there was too much of a difference between the top and bottom layers, even after I specifically showed her the amount I wanted. She kept saying how “time is money in the hair salon business” and I believe it because she rushed through what she was doing as fast as she could and RUINED my hair. The money I paid her took hours of MY time to earn, but apparently that’s of no concern to her. I can probably get the cut fixed in a few months, but it will take at least a year and a half to 2 years for the over-bleached damage to grow out.Another reason I won’t be going back is the place is filthy. She needs to sit and take in the client’s perspective because everywhere I looked there was grime that had obviously been there a long time. I sat in silent disbelief as she pulled some other clients hair out of a brush and then proceeded to use the brush on me! Gross! Why didn’t I say something?! That is highly unhygienic… that person could’ve had lice or God knows what! When she took me to the wash bowl, the chair had stuff all over it as well. I had to swipe it off before I sat down so I didn’t get it all over my pants.I was SO DISAPPOINTED with how my hair turned out and the fact that I PAID someone to do this to me. All that aside though, the worst part is how it made me feel about myself. I lost confidence because of how this hair makes me FEEL.
