Mr. Tim was amazing! My son hates having his face or hair touched and he got down on my sons level, played with him before starting the hair cut, then brought the haircut to my son at the toy table so my son was as comfortable as possible. Not a single tear. Will be back and highly recommend. Cannot say enough great things about my first experience here!!

Such a fun place to get your kiddo’s hair cut. Vickie is the best stylist. She is so fun and patient with the kids. My children love being able to sit in their favorite seats (a train and a Barbie jeep for the win!) They also get to pick a movie to watch during the haircut, choose their own shampoo scent, and get their hair washed with the help of an elephant “shower”. I definitely recommend The Hairy Elephant!

We went for the second time for my 4 year old son’s haircut. My son is biracial and has long, curly hair and I asked if they were familiar with that style. The first time was fine, we just got a trim. It was not as “kid / sensory friendly” as advertised but pleasant enough for us to return for 2nd time. We had the same stylist, Tim, as we did the first. This time was horrible. I gave a very clear description along with photo of how I wanted his hair cut and styled (the same we walked in with and had last time-no major changes). Instead, Tim ignored my request, and gave his own suggestion. When I stated I wasn’t sure what style he was talking about as he explained it, and I just wanted it a little shorter and thinned out, but the same style, he took it upon himself to completely cut off my kids hair. My kid was clearly uncomfortable, reaching for my hand, trying to move away, and Tim instead try to forcefully move his head in the direction he wanted it which is when I intervened and assisted. Aren’t we supposed to be a little more sensitive and better trained in these situations? When I clearly was not happy, Tim attempted to “fix” the issue, but the damage was done. The cut is completely uneven and I will have to take him somewhere else to get it fixed. Not to mention, it’s completely not what we asked for. I would not recommend this place at all-especially if you have a kid with mixed hair of any kind.

The staff was great with my kids. Vickie cut my son’s hair. It was his first haircut. She was fantastic. I am very happy with the atmosphere and workers. I will definitely come back.

I took my son here for his first haircut around 15 months and even though I could tell the stylist was new to the place he did a good job & overall decent experience. Well today was not the case. My son is now 19 months. It was horrible experience. His haircut turned out good luckily but he screamed the entire time. I asked if he could sit on my lap but instead the same stylist we had last time requested I step away & not comfort him when crying since that “gave into it” when it was best he calmed down. Duhhh I had snacks/ binky/ toys to distract him but instead felt trapped to wait by receptionist instead of comforting my screaming baby. Understand my toddler wasn’t going to be the best during the process but could have been handled completely different.

Like some others have said, I’m unsure how this place has so many 5 star reviews. The staff is super unfriendly, my sons hairstylist Vickie was very snippy with me the whole time because I had his measurements removed because I didn’t like his haircut the last time she cut it. I tried to have higher hopes this time and was wrong. I just had to pay to have someone else fix his hair that I tried to tell her was uneven (very uneven) while we were there but I was over the snippyness from her. The girl next to us at the time cutting the little boys hair who was maybe 6, she at one point rudely told him “if you just keep your head down this would be much easier”. Just all around not happy with this second experience at all and will not be coming back. The girl who fixed my sons hair told me all of the mistakes and the way she cut his hair seems like she had no idea what she was even doing.

My wife took my son for the first time on Saturday afternoon. She didn’t know it was closing so she walked and the lady was very rude. She said we are closing in 10 mins and we don’t do walk-ins. Didn’t even offer any appointments and was not polite at all. I understand it’s everyone’s weekend but you could just say nicely that we can always help tomorrow. Very rude staff

Jenna Marie did an amazing job with our little man Ozzie for his very first haircut. She also was great with this very nervous momma. I was so nervous he would sit still, or that he would cry, or that I would leave hating his hair. It was such a relief to quickly see how much she cared about making us happy. She asked questions and listened to us the whole time…making sure she wasn’t cutting too much or too little. She even played one of his favorite movies for him….Finding Nemo! We were so happy and we will definitely be bringing Ozzie back to see her again for all of his cuts.
