I have been to many high end salons all over NYC but no one compares to the expertise of Cher. It is truly a pleasure to come to Hairstories because of her, she has incredible hair intuition, meaning if you start to explain what you would like she just knows and she always adds something insuring the outcome to be perfection. After several cuts from Cher my hair has looked better and better where I can honestly say I LOVE my hair. Thank you Cher!

Came here once and will never go back. The staff is very unfriendly. I have psoriasis. They were making faces while looking through my hair and took me to the sink to wash my hair before coloring even though I washed it before my appointment. I’ve gotten my hair colored many times professionally and never had my hair washed first. It was clear judgement from professionals that are supposed to be aware of scalp conditions. On top of that, I asked if anyone was available to do a blowout since I didn’t make an appointment. They were rude and said I should have made one even though I politely said it was no problem even if no one could; hence why I asked if anyone was “available”.

When I can tell you they do an amazing job with color. They definitely are the best. The staff is so friendly, HONEST, and completely knowledgeable. They aren’t just going to tell you the color for your hair is a good choice. They WILL tell you every detail before you decide to proceed with that color for your hair. That’s what you want in a colorist/ hairstylist. Completely to be honest.

Been coming here for years – I would not go anywhere else at this point – the staff are all wonderful but I specifically see Cali – she’s an expert at her craft & always guides me in a direction she knows I’ll be happy with. I get color, cut & styling every 3 – 4 months. Cali & the team are all friendly & efficient. I love that they opened up in the new location on Main St now – much more room for a busy salon & it’s made it easier to get an appt. If you want to go, book in advance!

I’ve gotten several haircuts and balayage/color done at hairstories over the years and recently have been very disappointed by the service. The staff has gotten so rude, demeaning and inattentive. I had a haircut a few months ago and was shocked that the hairdresser just left me hanging and went onto see another client without explaining to me that a blowdry would not be included and I’d have to book the service separately and leave the salon in the dead of winter with soaking wet hair. No one was available to dry my hair out of all the stylists/assistants that were just “hanging” around in their break room. I was so annoyed because the owner Chase only cares about money and doesn’t understand the meaning of customer service. No thanks. There are plenty of friendlier, less expensive, more attentive places to give your business to.

Only place I let PAINT my hair. At this salon they dont dye they PAINT and I love it! I love that they are all taught the same technique so no matter who does my hair it always comes out great! I have red undertones and this is the only place that has been able to really get me to blonde while keeping my hair healthy and full.

New customer review. !!! I went in for a consultation on color and from there on everything was excellent. Everyone was very nice and pleasant. The atmosphere is great super nice upscale salon with great music. I got my hair colored cut and styled and I loveee the way my hair looks . My hair looks exactly as I ambition. I think it’s worth the price and you definitely get what you pay for. Happy client. 🙂
