The stylist cutting my hair said she accidentally went too short with the razor while shaving one of my sides. I wasn’t hurt and didn’t notice until she showed me what she had done. But it meant she had to use a 0-1 instead of the 2 that I wanted. I’ll have to say at the time I was not really happy as I had never had my hair cut THAT short. She was very sorry and I felt badly for her. I went up the the counter when she was finished and was going to ask that I not pay for my haircut and the person at the desk said the haircut was on the house and gave me a coupon for another free haircut. I will have to say I was completely surprised but happily so. Long story short, I want to say how appreciative I was for the amazing customer service. There was no question, no discussion, the stylist let the manager or receptionist know what had happened and that I wasn’t happy and beat me to the punch. Outstanding! It’s no exaggeration to say that I’ve been having my haircut for over 20 years here. The online appointments during the week makes it convenient. The staff is friendly and there seems to be little turnover. Parking can be a challenge, so use the lots that are close by. My biggest fear is that the person who cuts my hair ends up retiring!

I have no idea how this place somehow has a 4.6 star rating here instead of the 1 star it barely deserves. I’ve been getting haircuts here for a few years because of its convenient location, and I have not once had a haircut I was happy with. The haircuts here are consistently bad. The staff is very rude and totally unresponsive to suggestions and instructions during the haircut. I’m not the kind of person who complains a lot about poor service or writes angry reviews like this, but after my atrocious most recent haircut, which I got from a staff member who “forgot” to cut the hair on one side of my head and used clippers when I specifically asked for scissors (not the first time this has happened), and just scowled at me when I corrected her, I realized it was time for me to warn other customers of this horrible place. The staff here also seems a lot more intent on socializing with each other and wanting to leave work early than in doing a good job, which is why almost all the haircuts I’ve gotten here have been lazy, rushed, and haphazard. I once did get a haircut I was happy with, and the next month when I requested the woman who had given me that great haircut, I was told that she had left. Good for her, she made the right decision. Unlike this highly skilled haircutter, over the years, the rest of the staff here has largely consisted of the same group of mediocre, lazy, unprofessional, rude, and horrifically unskilled women. Like me, so many Wellesley residents fall into the trap of coming back here for their haircuts because it’s convenient, but I warn every man out there to STAY AWAY. Only when I left for college did I realize what good haircut service was like. In addition, the haircuts here aren’t even affordable enough to justify the horrible service. Aside from being reasonably cheap by Wellesley standards, I could have done much better had I had the tools. I have Afro textured hair and being my second time at the shop I can tell they have zero experience with it. First time wasn’t so bad but I had to explain to use a brush as a comb doesn’t really work when your hair is a quarter of an inch high but at least I had a great beard trim.

The day prior to coming to this salon, I had gotten a horrible hair colouring job elsewhere but Michele fixed it and gave me something better than I had hoped for! Now I have a great med. brown-to-indigo ombre with beautifully incorporated highlights and color vibrancy. I received personalized attention and professional, high-quality results. They were able to fit me in the day that I needed and Michele spent a lot of time getting everything perfect. I will be coming back here again!

Consistently reliable. I’ve been going here for about 15 years now. Like all such places, there is much turnover among the stylists. Still, in all that time, I’ve only had two bad haircuts. They will fix it without charge. You must park at a meter on the street or in one of the nearby town parking lots. There are usually plenty of spaces available.

Cheap haircuts and nice stylists. They have a nice reward program where your 11th haircut is free. Walk in is no problem, but I recommend you call ahead so you don’t have to wait. They do collect your phone number and they can write the hair style you want. I always get a nice cut, beard trim, and hair wash. Tipping is $5 or $10, depending on what you get. When you pay, you can ask for cash back. Note that stylists change there, so don’t expect to pick a stylist long term. There are no head massages or refreshments. They do have candy at the front desk. You can hang your coat next to the waiting area. This place is kid friendly, but I do see quite a few Wellesley College ladies there as well as some business men on occasion. But it isn’t a hangout place for soccer moms who prefer more expensive cuts. Stylists are chatty, but you don’t have to start a convo if you don’t want to. Popular music plays in the background. This place is easy to get to and is in downtown Wellesley. There is no free parking.
