First time and it was pretty nice! The place is super cute and on a Friday afternoon it wasn’t busy. My hair stylist made sure to ask multiple times what I wanted and looked a pictures to get an idea. Very thorough and patient when I had some things I wanted touched up. For the time it took and the whole process I felt that my money was well spent and I found a nice place to go to for my hair.

HairBrains is a great local salon. It has been the hometown salon for my wife and I for the past three years. We have always had pleasant experiences between our first stylist, Laura (who moved away a while back), and our current stylist, Lynn. Between the haircut and wash/massage, we always enjoy the process and end result of our trips to HairBrains. We are always happy to support good, local businesses!

I’ve been getting my hair styled at Hair Brains for the last 3 years and I love it! Every time I walk out I’m in love with my hair. Laura always pays close attention to detail and shows me how to style it after the cut. The prices are super affordable and I would recommend this salon to everyone! I drive from Memphis TN just to get my hair done here because I love it that much!

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueStopped in hair brains on 3-18-20 spoke with Lynn about fixing my hair I just paid 100 dollars to have done at another salon in Herrin and the back was still way to long not stacked & layered the way I wanted it ! Lynn was very sweet and told me she could take me the next day , I went in the next day showed Lynn the same picture I showed the other stylist of the cut I wanted. It’s short in the back STACKED & layered apparently the other stylist DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS !! My hair looked horrible until Lynn WORKED HER MAGIC AND FIXED IT ! She also gives the Best Shampoo I’ve ever had it was a shampoo and awesome massage in one ! Thumbs up To Lynn !!!!!! Awesome job !!! Thanks soooo much for fixing my hair and will continue to have Lynn take care of me from now on !!!!! Stopped in hair brains on 3-18-20 spoke with Lynn about fixing my hair I just paid 100 dollars to have done at another salon in Herrin and the back was still way to long not stacked & layered the way I wanted it ! Went in wanting to drastically change my hair, and I can honestly say that it came out way better than I expected. Patty was sweet and excited about being able to try something new, and I left feeling very confident about my new look. Also very affordable: pixie cut, wash, and highlights was only $60.

Nikki did a great job cutting both of my girls hair. She took her time and was very precise. She even went above and beyond and gave them a little fun spray-on color strand (it washes right out of course). I will definitely be coming back!!!

I’ve been going to Hair Brains for many years. Meghann is my hero — she’s got to be some sort of hairstyling goddess who has fallen to Earth to help us mere mortals. She’s friendly, easy to talk to, and my hair is always perfect when I walk out the door. Best of all, having her wash your hair is seriously like going to a spa. I’m hesitant to say too many good things about her because then I’ll have to fight harder to get appointments with her!

I liked Hairbrains but have since stopped going. It’s a charming place, but I found them to be overpriced, and they really push the Redken products on you, which are not affordable for most people. When I asked for some drugstore recommendations, I got scoffed at, which was somewhat understandable considering a hair stylist’s perspective, but also annoying considering Redken is probably a spurlge for most people. I liked my stylist until she made a red dye job turn my hair pink when my base color is brunette. There was another time when I scheduled an appointment over the phone, but when I arrived, it seemed they forgot to write it down, so I had to come back another time. They were apologetic and I took it in stride, but I still found it unprofessional. I have since taken my business elsewhere and have gotten a similar or better end result without paying nearly as much.
