Came to Hair + Space for the first time in January after I had gotten my first ever blowout at a Dominican salon that had severely damaged my hair. After A LOT of trimming and treatments my hair is getting better. I have gotten blowouts and the ponytail styling. Generally I can get my blowouts to last about two weeks as long as I put my hair up and use dry shampoo, but I didn’t like the ponytail. The color and the texture didn’t match and it barely lasted a week unfortunately.

I was serviced by Tiffany and I have absolutely no complaints. When walking in, I was greeted and serviced immediately. She was kind, gentle, and understanding. She was transparent with what my hair needed and reasonable. I will definitely be back again! The whole studio was very professional and gave off great vibes. Second time at the salon. The salon is clean and spacious. Customer service was excellent. I was seen within 10 minutes upon arrival at the time of my appointment. My hair came out exactly how I wanted each time. I highly recommend a visit to this salon. I will be returning.

I will NEVER return to this salon. I had booked an appointment for my birthday weeks in advance asking for crimps. The receptionist on the phone said this style could be done and said she would make a note of this in the system so my stylist would be aware when I came in for my appointment. Not to mention the receptionist told me the only time she was available was at 12pm so I had to make my appointment at that specific time. The day of the appointment I realized they had moved locations and this had not been updated online so I arrived to the wrong location. I called the salon and was told they were located in the hotel and that I was supposed to have received an e-mail with this information which I never received. As a result, I was late to my appointment and was greeted rather rudely by my stylist. It was not my fault that this information was not sent to me. The appointment was seemingly going well until my stylist asked me what hair style I wanted and when I said crimps she said she did not have a crimper and instead said she would do curls. This is not what I had asked for and instead of arguing with the stylist I just decided to let her do the curls since that was the only alternative since the crimping tool was needed for the crimps I wanted. I was very upset especially since it was my birthday and I had gotten a service I did not ask for. I asked the receptionist to speak to the manager before I left and the manager realized that the note for the crimps had not been put in the system at all and gave the poor excuse that they had recently moved locations (which was a lie because it had been a few months since they had moved) and did not have all their styling tools at the new location. She only offered me a complimentary deep conditioning for the next time I came which was just not happening. I was still upset when I left and called back asking for my money back because I was not going to use the complimentary deep conditions service she had granted me because I had no desire to come back. She told me I should have shown the stylist a picture so she could recreate what I wanted but again you need a crimping tool for the style I wanted so there was no other way to mimic the style I wanted without that tool. I was being blamed and gaslighted for being unhappy with the service I received. The manager said she had to discuss something with my stylist and she would call me back in 10 minutes, but she never called again. Don’t waste your time and money going to this salon.

They are always booked! Be sure to set an appointment 2-3 weeks in advance. Nothing but positive things to say about this salon. I love all the beautiful melanin stylist taking proper care of our natural hair curl or straight styles. They really make you feel comfortable. My hair came out beautiful! Finally a blowout bar for black women with curls & coils! I’m the type of person who likes to have all the details (location, parking, pricing, etc.) and the website provided me with all the information I needed to feel comfortable traveling to a location I have never been to. I booked my appointment online Saturday for Monday afternoon – you receive an email after booking with parking, directions and the cancellation/check-in policies. Upon entering the suite I was greeted by my stylist, Tiffany, and shortly after my arrival she started my service. I appreciate my service started on time because other salons are *not* like that. The shampoo was great and it took almost no time for Tiffany to blowout and style my hair. I love the way my hair turned out! It’s silky smooth and lightweight. If you’re a black woman who has ALWAYS wanted to experience a blowout bar but know they can’t style your hair, look no more! Hair + Space is for us, with stylist who look like us. I will 100% be back in the future and am so happy I found this spot.

Critical: Quality, ValueThis place has been on my radar for a couple of years. I was so excited to finally make an appointment for a blowout and steam treatment. I arrived for my appointment with Tiffany and was greeted upon arrival. Everything seemed fine until it was time for the “trim”. The whole time I was facing away from the mirror so I was unable to see what was going on until the end. When she finished my hair, I did notice it was shorter than expected even though she told me my ends weren’t that bad. Also, the type of style made it hard to see how much shorter my hair was since it was swooped back a bit. Not long after I left my ends got frizzy and I noticed that the cut was very drastic and uneven. I was in tears. Literally inches were missing. Where my hair was able to touch my chest it now barely touches my neck. I can barely get it in a ponytail without pinning the choppy layers. I live about 40 mins away, so I called back and let them know. They offered to fix it, but for one I’m a single parent in school and trying to work while caring for a special needs child. My schedule is very inflexible. Also, at that point I didn’t want my hair cut any shorter because it already took a while to get it to the length it was. I asked for a refund, and was offered a partial refund which I was okay with. However, I was refunded $25 which was an additional slap in the face. Organized place with good vibes. I’ve been here for 3 visits: I loved my blow out and I really loved my clip in install. My twist out was bomb dot com and I received a lot of compliments on my hair. I have four stars and not five because they do not have options for flexi rods or perm rods and parking is metered.
