I have mixed reviews I saw Katie Today . My haircut was very rushed … but she did great waxing my eyebrows. She is one fast talker and a sales woman that’s for sure. I just got the WORST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE from Chuck/Charles Harness at the 34th Ave location in Minneapolis. I have (had) long hair, and asked for a trim taking off the bare minimum with some added light layers. My layers are now shoulder length and I’m devastated. Each side is uneven, and the face framing is uneven as well. I had to repeat myself several times because Chuck straight up was not listening to what I was saying. Instead he regaled me with stories about how his pet bunny used to “r*pe his dog”. He also asked me if I was single while we were in the store alone together after dark, so it was incredibly uncomfortable and creepy. I tried to stop him when I saw he was going too short, and he assured me it’s just because “it was at an angle”. When he asked me if it was too short, I said yes. To which he replied, “you’re just not used to layers”. My hair is short and uneven and horrible! Don’t let this person destroy your hair like he destroyed mine!! Photo evidence to prove that this isn’t a “Karen” review.

If you don’t want a professional cut, go here. If you don’t care that he cuts off way more than you want, go here. If you don’t care what it looks like or the fact you can’t get it to look good no matter how you try, then this is the place for you. I had to go to a professional salon to get my “trim” fixed. Of course they had to cut off even more to do that. He might be adequate as a barber but he should not be cutting women’s hair.

I had perhaps the worst haircut ever. The stylist Linda Gipson couldn’t hold the clippers in her hand and asked repeatedly if it was a number 2 after I told her a number 1 fade. My haircut is crooked, uneven and hacked. I took a chance and never again. I want to grow my hair out. So my only choice is wearing a hat and seeing my old barber after a few weeks, even if I have to take time off of work. Which is what I tried to avoid. Beware of fidgety, absentminded, tweaking hairstylists and don’t take chances or you’ll pay the price I’m paying!

Couldn’t get into my usual barbershop until the next week, but needed a cut before then, so I went looking for a chain haircut shop thinking that they would have openings right away. I got an appointment next day. Service was friendly, but I simply didn’t get the haircut that I asked for. I asked for a fade on the sides, but got a straight cut instead. Furthermore, I have a lineup on the front of my head that has to be cut back very carefully; the lineup was pushed back a full half inch, and now I will have to grow it out, as it’s not really a lineup anymore, I’m just missing a huge chunk of hair on the front of my head. I really thought I could go to any barbershop and that I’d be able to receive a decent lineup and fade, but my faith in chain shops has been even lessened. As I said, friendly service, but the cut was below average. I will not be returning.

I have had my daughter and my own hair done here for several years and I have nothing but good things to say! All of the stylists have been great some with some even better then others. I have been to nearly all of them. Layla, Donna, and Beth (to name a few) are great and listen to what you want. Just speak up and tell them if something is not perfect and they will always make sure you leave happy. Love this place! It’s another gem of South Minneapolis.
