Critical: ProfessionalismDespite the many good reviews here, I was disappointed to find that not only did they employees here not respond to my calls, but I also found that their location was closed when I tried to visit in person during their supposed “opening hours” today. The past 2 days I tried calling the Hair shop to inquire the costs for a woman (long) hair cut, and to book an appointment as recommended online but never heard back from them. Today I visited the shop in person to schedule for o e at around 12PM, when their opening hours – both online and printed on their main entrance doors – said they are open 9AM to 2PM … only to find the place completely abandoned and closed, with no employees present. I saw just a small room, with a few chairs in front of a mirror, desk, and other minor furnitures that any typical hair salons would have. The shop does not have a main website, nor did any of their social media platforms such as Facebook shared any news about their temporary (?) closure. What a shame. This salon is the closest one near me too. I’ll be finding a new hair salon, and do not intend to contact the Hair shop in the future. Despite the many good reviews here, I was disappointed to find that not only did they employees here not respond to my calls, but I also found that their location was closed when I tried to visit in person during their supposed “opening hours” today. Critical: Professionalism, QualityI have been a loyal customer to Tonya for over 10 years. I called to make my appointment and stated that I wanted pink hair (my natural hair color is a very light brown for reference). When I sat down she began prepping my hair for highlights. I stopped her and asked if all of my hair was going to be pink, as I asked for originally. She said no because she wanted to leave my natural hair color in and would instead do pink highlights (far from what I asked). I explained again what I wanted my hair to look like and she repeatedly used the excuse that she didn’t know, even though I clearly stated my desires on the phone when I made my appointment two weeks in advance (I called on 11/19 and my appointment was 12/3). She called me snooty for correcting what she was doing to my hair even though she wasn’t giving me the service I originally asked for. The only reason my hair looked decent when I left (first picture) is because of the other hair stylist that was checking her work every ten minutes (and bless that lovely woman because my hair would’ve been ruined otherwise). The service I received cost $125. All of the color came out after two washes (second picture), which was not communicated to me (I was told I’d need a touch up after a month which is reasonable but not two washes). This place used to be good (I’ve had bright colors put in my hair MANY times in the past) but it seems to have taken a very different turn. If you want highlights and a Karen cut you might be in luck, otherwise I’d recommend spending your money elsewhere.
