Overcharged and disappointed. I booked a male box braids appointment and on the website it said $40+ for male styles. I wrongfully assumed the price would be in a close range, as every other box braid place I have been to only charged me $40-$60. However, they charged me $120. My hair is not long at all, an absolutely ridiculous overcharge. So not only did they double and triple the price of other braiders, they did not even let me know the price until after the service was done. Sure, maybe I should have asked the price before and all that, but I was not expecting this much of a difference compared to other shops. Then, when I got home I noticed how uneven it was. Usually braiders would split my hair down the middle, to ensure both sides are symmetrical and even, but not here. I got a diagonal line down my head smh. I also noticed how some of the rubber bands holding my braids were broken causing my hair to unravel only hours after getting my service done. Some of them are half broken waiting to come out. There is no attention to detail or care about the customer experience and I really feel like I got scammed. Never coming back.

Yesterday I took my daughter to get her hair braided. I made an appointment online with Patricia. NEVER AGAIN! The website clearly says $150 for box braids. I left the $20 deposit to make the appointment. My thinking is I should owe $130 plus tip. When I get to the appointment Patricia says she’s going to do them “medium”which is $180. When Patricia finished my daughter’s hair the braids are huge! ( you’ll see in the pic they are the size of my finger) and my baby middle part is way off. I go to pay, and this chick says $180 is owed. With my deposit that’s $200 on raggedy braids! NEVER EVER AGAIN. I will continue going to Anderson street.

I made an appointment for my daughter they canceled appointment and changed my appointment time. The new time was inconvenient for me. So I took them somewhere else. I sent a text to cancel immediately after receiving the Email the night before.this lady never responded until this morning when I was already on route to a whole new location I don’t have a problem with them keeping a refund if it was an error on my end . However this cancellation was due to her and her lack of communication. If she was apologetic about it or even reached out to me the night I text her I wouldn’t care about the deposit. At this point it’s the principle. This was not good business practice on the owners end. That one hour made a huge difference to me as I had an event to attend the same day. Very unprofessional, she communicated with me up until I made the deposit and before taking upon herself to change the appointment one would think to reach out to the customer!!! If two people are getting there hair done why would they want the appointments 1 hour apart when we already know the box braids would take longer then cornrows!!!!! I rate them a zero based on communication!!!!!

I got senegalese twists from Roxanne a little under a week ago, and when I got them done they were so beautiful. Received lots of compliments too! After like a day or two I noticed some of my real hair peeking through a few in the back and maybe one in the front. I know with the twists its harder to tuck because of the style, but when I had gotten twists done in the past my hair would start showing maybe a few weeks afterwards, not a few days. Roxanne really took her time with the hair so I’m not sure why they got fuzzy so quickly. I did pay $170 for the style; maybe the hair I used was cheaper (it was expression in a 3 pack). A little upset about it but honestly the style still looks beautiful.

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI called the shop and the owner wasn’t pleasant at all. She had a nasty condescending tone and response. Yeah she followed up with well didn’t you see your hair when she was doing it and why didn’t you say anything at that time as if I can see what the hairstylist is doing at the top of my head when she’s was braiding it. As if I’m up close and personal with the mirror to be able to see exactly what she’s doing. This was my second visit and NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! I wasn’t having a bad day!!! If this is your way of deflecting to take the ownership off of you have at it! As I customer, I’ve spent way too much money in your shop to be treated like this! I have no reason to lie to you about my hair, the response that I had received from you was no a welcoming one to say the least. I didn’t even ask a partial refund or anything back I just wanted, the situation to be rectified that’s all. Nothing more! Try being just a tad bit more professional when it comes to your customers that’s spending their money. No not every customer is in the right and looking for a reason to complain but I’m not that customer!!!! I just wanted to let you know and to have it corrected! Critical: ProfessionalismCheck out my full review on yelp!!Lady who did my hair was Khadijah. Does NOT know how to follow instructions. I asked for jumbo twists, and maybe she didnt wanna do jumbo and tried to keep them skinny. Because the skinnier the braid, the more money you pay.Service was supposed to be $210, she made my pops pay 250. Patricia was my hair stylist. She was very professional and did my hair very nicely. She left my edges out as per my instruction and was very gentle. I did recommend her to a friend and will be returning. Only issue was when giving them 180 for my 170 hairstyle they did not give me my change back, although I was going to provide that as a tip plus more; let me make the choice.
