Jonathan is the best Asian hair colorist in nyc! Had my hair done 4 times and would recommend to those who are patient. My sessions generally take 8-10 hours but the results are amazing. Follow his instructions (use the free products he gives you!) to keep damaged hair alive. If you can’t maintain damaged hair, don’t get your hair colored.

If I could give it zero stars I would…This salon was a disappointment. Please don’t be fooled by the pictures on Instagram… The assistant does all the work while tom mixes the colors. He likes to take credit as if he did the work. I payed $375 for my hair to not even last a week. He was willing to fix my hair free of charge. I felt very uncomfortable going back. The woman at the front desk claimed to say that my hair was looking good when I went there. I told her I was very upset at the way my hair looked and also told her it was blonde. She lied and said it was pink when it wasn’t. I have never had this happen before… He tries to make an excuse saying that it’s my fault that the color didn’t last. He was rolling his eyes and talking bad about me…He has gone up to me only to touch my hair and hit the top of my head while talking to his employer in another language. My hair is falling out, not only that but it wasn’t fixed right. There were still blond strands of hair- when it should’ve been a purple to pink style. Tom seems to have his way of pushing customers away if he doesn’t like them for whatever reason. There is no way others go there to get their hair color only for it to last week! Don’t waste your time or your money on someone whose willing to scam you!

It took me almost 7hours to get this hair done, I’ve never had this color before which I’m impressed with Jonathan’s skill. He’s talent with colors and my hair still health and smooth afterwards!!

The guy that cut my hair asked if I wanted bangs and I said no. He cut the length of my hair fine but then he started cutting bangs and I hate bangs on me. It took me two years to regrow my bangs from before and now I have to regrow it out again

Jonathan is a hair color wizard. This took 7.5 hours but it was so worth it. My hair is still pretty healthy due to the slow bleaching process they performed, as well as the after care products they provided. Be advised that all light colors will fade overtime as you wash your hair. I’ll be going back to see Jonathan for a toning session soon.

Didn’t end up with something I am happy with or initially wanted due to pressure and poor communication by Jonathan. Had to settle for a second hair color choice. “Hair treatment” was HARDENED into roots of hair because employees didn’t wash it out. CRAZY (!!) amount of hair broke and fell out. STIFF and then FLAKEY, SCARRED scalp. Jonathan and other employees can improve on communication, attention to detail, and care. I usually don’t write reviews but I’m so upset on how my hair cut turned out. I like the detail to the coloring, but I find it unprofessional and disrespectful to imply that I am anorexic while I understood what they were saying. I also didn’t feel comfortable when the stylist kept blowdrying my hair and curling it despite displaying my discomfort for heat products, since I don’t style my hair and haven’t gone to a salon in more than 3 years. Other than that, she has good skills. I will not mention her name out of courtesy, but I advise to do your research on the stylists before getting your hair done at this place. The experience definitely makes your salon visits worth going back or not.
