First time here. They got me in for a cut with a very minimal wait (like less than 5 minutes). The barber asked me a few questions about how I wear my hair normally and how I usually have it cut, and then got to work. He was fast and efficient. Could tell he was experienced and knows what he is doing. Very happy with the result. Will definitely be back and will highly recommend.

All I can say is WOW! The service is sublime, the trim and cut I got took me from grizzled mechanic to snowy Santa, and the drinks are absolutely delicious! The prices are definitely reasonable, and the staff is amazing! Definitely check them out!

This was a while back, but wanted to leave a review. I was there within their first three months of business. Only one in shop and wasn’t busy as it was a Tuesday. I’m a bald man and had a decent length beard. Wanted all the hair on top remover, beard cleaned up and a fade of sideburns into bald up top. Nothing too difficult, I was wrong. Took too much length off, sides were not even and fade was non-existent. I’m not one to argue with people, so I tipped and left and never went back. Sad thing is, it was the owner of the shop that cut me. He was friendly, skills just weren’t there. Shame as I’ve heard others have had good luck, but maybe if it’s not a side part, he can’t do it. I dunno.

My husband took my son here for a haircut, the outcome was fine, but the barber cut into my sons ears and he’s complaining of pain. We’re treating it to avoid infection, but both ears are sore to the touch and warm. It’s unfortunate because the haircut was fine and we considered bringing him here regularly.

Hair of the Dog is the first barbershop I’ve found in many years that reminds me of the barbershops of my childhood (I’m in my 50s). The atmosphere along with the actual hair care are spot-on. They even use a straight razor to clean up your neck! Jeremy is the barber I use, and he is the best in the business – fast AND excellent. But, from what I have observed, all the barbers in the shop do fantastic work.

I’m absolutely stunned by the quality of my haircut. I just finished a round of chemotherapy so I’ve been growing my hair and beard out. Logan did an amazing job sculpting (yes, sculpting like an artist) my hair & beard to look nice and full. I had several spots that hair was still thinning, but he made my hair look better than before chemotherapy! I’ve given my business to three established barbers over five years within Springfield; I’ve now found the one! I wish I could have tipped him double!
