John is amazing, he will listen to your ideas and either execute precisely or explain why it’s not a good style for you (hair texture, length, time/skill for hair styling) and then give suitable options that give the same feel. John is very personable and makes new and old clients feel welcome with his wonderful people skills and sense of humor. I trust my hair to no one else!

I went yesterday for a 1pm appointment, I came 10 minutes early so I had no problem waiting for others to be done of course. But by the time I had decided to leave it was 1:55 and I still had been sitting in the same place from when I walked in. I don’t mind waiting normally but I made an appointment for a reason. All I wanted was a wash and cut. I ended up walking out because to me that is just ridiculous. I guess you have to be within a certain age group to be treated like a person in there. Never going back.

If I could leave zero stars I would because that’s what Hair It Is deserves. John is stand offish, also very stuck up especially with new clients like myself, without any acknowledgment to me from the moment I walked in and left. But to start off with I had booked an appointment for 530 with John and waited 20 minutes for a pre booked appointment. Johns salons is dirty and outdated. I’ve been to a lot of small local owned salons but this has to be the nastiest one I’ve seen. It seems to me after sitting in there for awhile all the white haired ladies (which there’s nothing wrong with except if you have no standards) go there for their haircuts which are questionable because it doesn’t seem all that good. John if you see this and are still incompetent to clean you should hire a cleaning service for your salon.

Loved the atmosphere of this place. Very friendly employees and customers. It’s like everyone knows you and makes you feel at home immediately.. reminds me of steel magnolias! Plan on being there for a while..long wait..but worth it! John the owner is a riot..funny as could be..great dynamic between employees and owner.. they are like family. Absolutely love the haircut I received! Listens to what you want and recommends whats good for your hair type..doesnt just take your money. And Very reasonable prices..right in the heart of Nanticoke.
