I met with Doris for a hair consultation today. She was very thorough and I could immediately tell that she was focused on healthy hair. She fully explained her recommendations and I had her do my hair. I’m extremely pleased with the outcome, her knowledge and attention to details. Currently, I’m in the process of transitioning from relaxed to natural hair and I didn’t want to do the big chop. Doris focused on what I wanted and how we could achieve my desired hair style. She provided recommendations so I can manage my hair between appointments. She’s a definite gem and I highly recommend her. Btw, I made my next appointment already.

I have been coming to Doris for a few months now and my hair has never looked better. She takes the time to work with my hair texture. My hair texture has always been difficult to work with being a mix of African American and Caucasian. I never knew what products were right for my hair. She takes the time to educate you and inform you what products are best for your hair type. She’s flexible and always works with my schedule. I finally have beautiful hair that I’m proud of! Doris is a wonderfully talented hair stylist! I came to visit Naperville and she made room for me in her schedule! I called her answering service and (thankfully) she called me back before she left her shop. Not only did she stay late to do my hair, she still consulted with me about my hair needs. My scalp feels amazing! My hair looks gorgeous! She is also reasonably priced and is really fair, even with me being natural! I felt like she gave me the ultimate service and I didn’t have to be a friend, or a regular customer. She is all about healthy hair, she explained her process and products she used in my hair. She also gave suggestions on how to maintain my look and manage my hair to stay strong and healthy. This woman knows her stuff! She is very knowledgeable and skilled with the tools in her hands. I will be coming back again!

Doris is very concern about hair care. She schedules you for a 15 hair consultation were she looks at your hair and gives you suggestions on the the regiment for your specific hair texture to get it to it’s healthiest state. I really like that she doesn’t treat everyone hair the same. She has several different relaxer that would be suited specifically for your hair.

This is a long overdue review! However, I have to give this woman a 5 star rating for backing up what she says. Most people are incapable of doing that, but not her! I went here because of the 5 star rating and all of the reviews are accurate detailing the type of service she provides! I don’t trust anyone with my hair, but I went out on a limb and I’m so glad that I did! She is individualized in her approach and is very clear of what can and cannot be done based on the condition of your hair. I love how forthcoming she is and how she was able to relate to me and who I am to provide the best experience possible! She also was able to squeeze me in at short notice which is also a plus, however I do recommend you book her in advance because she takes one appointment at a time and I just got lucky. See you soon Doris for my second appointment!

Very professional and a pleasant personality! Doris attempts to work with one client at a time when she books you. I texted her and she replied within one day and invited me to come in for a consultation at no charge. I then booked my first appointment. I received the most invigorating deep conditioner and she took time to educate me about my hair. I will be a repeat client. I’ve searched or a stylist in the Bolingbrook/Naperville area for the past two years after my former stylist moved from the area. I have found a new one!

Called two consecutive days leaving a detailed voicemail seeking an initial appointment along with attempting to schedule online with a follow up message. Voicemail implies there’s a short window for return calls, however this is not the case. Customer service is terrible-false expectations. It appears this is not the only complaint concerning lack of correspondence. Doris whenever you read this please know that in this day & time when we’re trying to support black owned businesses you must do better. You’re in an area that suggests you’re in demand due to the rarity of black owned professional hair salons/stylists in the Northwest suburbs. If there are several complaints regarding no return calls even online, you cannot continue to do the same thing expecting a different outcome, it’s insane… apologizing saying there aren’t messages when we know we’re leaving them isn’t rectifying the situation. Get a receptionist or another method of communication, it’s too much technology in the world today for this to be a constant issue.
