I have NEVER written a review in my life but after this experience I had to. Upon arrival, the girl who was to apparently cut my hair was head down asleep at the front desk. My immediate impression as a customer felt like a burden as she repeatedly told me how tired she was. As a side note for context sake, when I called to schedule the appointment I said I would like a wash, cut, and blow dry. After I explained what kind of trim I want, we go to wash my hair. This was mostly fine but she put way too much conditioner in my hair, even on the top of my head which is never supposed to be done. Get back to the chair and I explain again about the basic trim I would like. She cuts my hair and when she feels like she’s finished (less than 5 minutes later) she takes the cape off and says I’m done. I’m kind of in shock at this point but didn’t say anything because I’m so uncomfortable and wanted to leave. My hair is SOAKING wet, like I had just stepped out of a pool (plus with globs of conditioner in it that I touched and and could feel in my hand). She doesn’t even offer to dry my hair. I am in the service industry, I gave her a 20% tip but it hurts that I paid $28 for a horrible experience that lasted less than 15 minutes.

I got my hair cut today by Jamie & it might be the best haircut I’ve had yet – and I’ve frequented multiple “high-end” salons that just up-charge for something I don’t end up liking. My regular stylist from another salon was out sick and couldn’t squeeze me in for another two weeks. I was desperate and needed to clean up my stacked bob. Everyone knows the grow out on these aren’t pretty. It was starting to look like a mullet, seriously. I looked up walk in salons and this place was the closest. I walked in and the front desk lady looked to be in about the same mood I was in. She checked with Elliot who agreed to squeeze me in. Elliot looked like he rolled in off the CA surf, and I silently prayed I wouldn’t end up looking like a Q-tip when it was over. But I was pleasantly surprised by his professionalism and ability to handle my hair. He knew exactly my kind of cut and the correct terminology. He didn’t just squeeze me in, he went the extra mile. It didn’t feel rushed and it came out really pretty. He also didn’t recommend a slew of products. He was real and said I could use a leave in conditioner, so I bought it. Great guy and great stylist. I recommend him for emergency hair appointment and in general.
