First, let me tell you I have had my fair share of bad experiences with hair salons, I am very skeptical on who touches my hair. I just had a bad haircut in June, I am in the process of growing my hair out, my friend Lila who we went to cosmetology school together, is a stylist at the dual high way hair cuttery, when I arrived the staff was so sweet and inviting. The atmosphere was relaxing and clean. Lila is a very sweet lady, she asked me what I was thinking, she told me what would look good on me since I’m in the process of growing my hair out. Her idea turned out amazing! After she was finished she handed me a mirror spun me around so I could see the finished result and asked me if I was happy with it since she wanted me to be happy with my hair due to my previous experiences. I absolutely loved it! My hair feels so soft. I also discovered that I have thick hair! I was always told I had thing hair! Anyways, my experience was awesome! I definitely will be scheduling another appointment with Lila for sure!

Ive been going to hair cuttery for a while now, I only ever get a wash and trim and I figure that’s pretty hard to mess up. Well.. I made an appointment online with Sam the senior stylist. I go for my appointment and tell Joanne at the front desk that I have a 12:30 with Sam. She checks me in and 2 minutes later says “okay you can come back with me”. I’m thinking in my head, that my appointment is with Sam not this Joanne woman, but I just go with it. She washes my hair and when we get back she immediately parts my hair all the way to the left. When I came in with a middle part. They normally ask how I want it parted. Again, I give the benefit of the doubt (probably my fault). She clips only the back section of my hair up and cuts. Takes the clips out and doesn’t clip anymore of my hair up. It was weird to me because that’s not how they’ve always done it. Anyways she finishes and puts a product in my hair very roughly (I have curly hair so for the people who know, you can’t just scrub product into my hair it will frizz). She asks if there’s anything else she can do (meanwhile my hair is still parted completely different than the way I came in) so I ask her to do a middle part. Which she fails at doing and tells me “it’s probably just how your curl pattern is”. I pay and walk out and immediately take my hand and part it the way I wanted. I just find it funny I’m able to part my hair down the middle with my fingers, yet she couldn’t do it with a comb. I was in the establishment for 10 minutes. Which yes, would be nice any other time, but not this one. I also wanted to add that during that 10 minutes she asked me probably 3-4 times if I wanted to do any coloring to my hair or layering or highlights after I told her no each time. Because she parted my hair incorrectly I have completely lopsided hair that I feel trying to correct will only worsen. I will never be coming here again.
