We have been using the Hair Cuttery on York Rd in Timonium for more than a decade. The usual is all true — great staff and clean location. Kat, in particular, is fantastic. She now cuts the hair for everyone in the family– men, women, and children. Most recently she took on a complicated hair coloring for my brunette 12 year old and the results were beyond — the photo below shows the three-color color magic she was able to create! She is patient, thoughtful in coloring and styling, and is so consistent in cut and style that she is the only person we see. The whole staff is great, but she is AMAZING.

I made an appointment a few weeks ago and stupidly hasn’t done any research into where I was going. So today before my appointment I looked at reviews and started to get worried about having a bad experience. Some of the reviews were just plain bad. I was also worried since it had been over 6 months without a hair cut that I’d have to take a lot off the ends, however my stylist Paula was wonderful. She worked with me and my hair to make sure it was back to being healthy while still making sure I was happy with the length. I also got two hair treatments to help with breakage and dry hair, and she was so nice and pleasant throughout the whole experience (which ended up being over an hour long). She even gave me some very good advise on how to prevent my shampoo building up on my scalp to help my hair and scalp be healthier and happier. I will be happy to go back to her again for the next cut and treatment.

Out of other Hair Cuttery shops I have been to, this one stands out, and in a good way. I and my gf drive an hour from Montgomery County to get our hair cut at this location by Julie. Wonderful woman with excellent customer service, and made some excellent suggestions while cutting my hair. It may take an hour to drive to, but well worth the trip for the best hair cutting experience around.

I got my haircut by Paula at this location. She did a wonderful job. She took her time and divided my hair and really did a great job. I told her I just wanted a trim and she went above and beyond. She was very personable and talk to me a lot. I also told her I didn’t want my hair blow dry because I was going to go right home and take a shower. But what she did was blow out some of the water in my hair so that my hair wasn’t sopping wet when I went outside because it was cold. I thought that was very kind of her and thoughtful. I love this location and travel an hour from Olney to have my hair cut. My stylist, Julie, is always pleasant and makes me feel good while she’s doing my hair. Even though it’s a chain salon, I always feel like I’m at a classic Baltimore beauty shop. Love the atmosphere.
